Thanks to Ben for running things, Mick and I had a good old time. These team tournaments are a blast.
Also, if anyone found a green metal water bottle kicking around, it's mine.

well it looks like the august tourney slot might be open, as the latest on 'ard boyz is that there will be no 'ard boyz.... this isnt confirmed yet but i have also noticed the "'ard boyz" tab has been removed from "community and events" tab on GW website and there has always been a tab showing previous results and future schedules whether it was up to date or not...
the only place its mentioned now is as a way to qualify for the throne of skulls

Thanks to Ben for running an enjoyable tournament. I had fun playing three exciting games and some very challenging opponents. A special thanks goes to Tommy for carrying me to a third place finish!

Had a fun time on Saturday and had a great partner. Chris and I played Guard/Eldar and even though we probably came down near the bottom of the results it was still some fun games. Game 1 was against Chris and Erich (Daemons)I believe that both groups played their armies right with few mistakes but frakking Fateweaver and his reroll failed wounds negated most of our shots. In the end Chris and Erich took full points. Shot of mid game. Notice the nice wall they had for the first few turns to protect most of their units. Game 2 was against Team Buffalo Wings 2 (Tau/Dark Eldar)Two shooty armies against each other. In the end it came down to us holding more table quarters (Primary). They took secondary and we got tertiary. Shot of our deployment area. Game 3 was against Team Patrick (Patrick/Ben) (Space Wolves) This mission kept messing with me as I kept forgetting that of the 2 allies, only one group's kill points counted. I lost sight of this and kept firing at the non-scoring units until I realized what I was doing. Chris's army was designated as the Kill Point list and I believe they scored 3 or 4 kill points to our 2. I messed that one up and should have paid more attention. All in all a fun outing and look forward to the painting/side board event next month. Kevin

In hindsight I admit that my reaction to the Forgeworld inclusion in this past weekend's tournament was unfounded. Looking back it didn't play any role in the outcome from what I saw. I still think its a horrible idea but this is more a comment on the Adepticon rules than anything else. This topic was discussed between my team mate and I when making our lists, but we agreed not to take what we could have and did not have time to acquire the models that we thought would have taken advantage of this unique rule. In Chicago I will be curious to see what factor this rule will play. Keep me posted on the outcome, I am suspecting that more than a handful of teams will find some units to exploit and will use this to change the outcome of a game or two.

Jeff, I think I will save you the answer that the TO will most likely give. It most likely will be no, but to play in the tournament you do not need a side board. You could play 1850 pts straight, assuming you are playing two identical sideboards. See you in March?

i posed the same question to the adepticon people regarding the gladiator and they said i could play a straight list with no side bords and obviously not switch any units in or out i dont see the issue with just allowing a straight 1850 list.

You will need at least on side board since one, if not two, of the mission's will be revolved around them.

other reasons for having 2 (both) side boards...
there could be a mission where you use both sideboards for a truly big game. (They did this at the GT that used sideboards.
If they score painting then they should score all the models including both sideboards. Not bringing 2 Sideboards is like saying that you should get free painting points for 1/3 of your army. Points that others had to work and earn.
I am not saying that both sideboards can't be identical, but the models should be present either way.

I get the whole side board thing but the reality is that many will not be able to get their painting league army to a legal 1850 much less have a side board to go with it. Unless you have stumbled upon some painting gnomes that visit your house late at night and paint your crap, I am sure you (Lucko) won't have a painted army much less a side board. So if you have to have a side board to play then I guess I will just have to field another army (or is there some rule I don't know about barring me from that too?). Not the end I was hoping for but whatever. I am sure the details will change several times between now and the start of the tournament just like they seem to every month.

So i guess the big question would be will both sideboards be hitting the table in the same mission? Because I'm kinda agreeing with Doug on this one. I thought the whole point of the March tourney was to show off the work of the folks from the painting league. I can probably get done a couple extra guys if I need to have two distinct 500point sideboards available to play, but not if I ned to basically be able to field a 2350 point force from the escalation league army.
