I was in the competition's store (yes, Alex knows I also game and shop there too) and I was talking about FOW with the sales staff. It seems that Millennium will take the plunge next week sometime and begin stocking FOW on a trial basis. I thought many of you guys would be interested since car rides out to Syracuse can get costly.

That is some good news, I just wish we could give boldo the buisness instead of Millenium.

They are listed as stockists on the FoW site. I'm willing to bet Neal at the Warstore will still be cheaper and would recommend using him for bulk FoW orders. For example he sells the british infantry co starter army for 180.00 and it has a list price of 230.00 on the FoW site. The U.S. army box lists as 290.00, neal has it for 220.
OR
Talk to Alex about using Old Glory. Yes you can wind up with alot of extra stuff but its still cheaper. I don't think it has the quality of FoW stuff but depending on how involved you are in the game it might not matter.

I second that - talk with Alex, he has a plan for Old Glory minis.

I'm not a big fan of FOW's resin bdy parts for many of their vehicles... soo I prefer old glory vehicles because they are all metal.

The resin vehicles are nicely detailed though compared to metal, just may be tricky to work with.

Its all about personal prefrence. I like trhe FoW stuff better because it has a bit more detail than Old Glory, plus I dont have to fidget around with several bags of "soldiers" plus buy or make bases and figure out who and how many and what goes where.
-Old glory has the best deal money wise
-Battle Front has the best figures and everything is all packed up for you (bases included) *Also BF gives you extras to play/model with. *Also comes with instructings on how to assemble your models.

Hey Guys,
Just to give a quick update here so that everyone knows the facts about Battlefront and Flames of War. They have a retailer agreement that limits stores to a maximum discount on their producst. When a retailer signs on to open an account they sign an agreement that states that product cannot be sold for more then 10% less MSRP. I have dealt with Neal at the Warstore a few tims and think he's a great guy. I went to the webite to check and see if this was in fact true. I looked up the British Infantry set and in fact it retails for 210 and he is selling it for 189. The U.S. army box set retails for 290 and he sells it for 261. Anyone willing to come to Millennium and spend tha much on FOW would get the same discount as long as I am there. I have been managing Millennium for a year now, which makes me kinda new I guess. I am not sure where or when or who or why there is a hatred of our store from some of the people here. In fact a couple of months ago Alex came to our store along with one of the other owners to play in a 40k tournamnet of ours. They kicked the snot out of our players and took home the majority of the prize pool. I have no ill will towards any of the player's or store owners in Rochester. For one thing, I can't hate someone that I have had very limited dealings with. I think I have spoken with Alex on maybe one occasion. Unlike most people, I am not a fan of listening to hearsay, I form my own opinion after I have spent a significant time with a person. I'm not on here trying to politic for players to come to our store and make there purchases here. It just shocked me that someone would be willing to wait and pay shipping for an item, or drive to Syracuse rather then drive 10 miles. Let's face it, due to the industry not being as storng as it used to be, game stores are a dying breed. Internet discounters have pulled more from our industry then bigbox stores could ever hope to. It's going to be a sad day when you hcan't play a tournmanet in a store due to them not being able to survive because of discounters online. I am not talking about Neal, he has a brick and mortar store as well. If you haven't been to our store, then I ask you to come in and check us out. If you have, but it was more then two years ago, I ask you to check us out. Feel free to e-mail me and explain why you hate my store. If there is something that I can change, I will change it. My intentions where not to jack this post. It would just be easier to follow where my post was coming from, if I put it wll here instead of in two different areas. So if you re looking for FOW and don't mind stepping into my place, we will be stocking the entire line. My intention is to run a solid league and have quarterly tournaments down the road. So I invite anyone of Alex's regulars to come in and destroy my regulars and take my hard earned cash pool.

Well said Travis.
Not attempting to jack the post either, but I have dealt with Travis for a while now and he is a fair and honest person. As everyone here knows, I but from Alex and I buy from Millennium, since I routinely play at both places. I strongly encourage the FOW regulars to consider Travis' offer to pricematch. To me it sounds like a win/win situation since you are supporting a local store and keeping their doors open, as well as getting the same price WITHOUT paying shipping cost and having to wait. If you still want to consider Old Glory as an alternative, then by all means buy from Alex, but if you need genuine FOW product please support your local stores.
..and yes, I am getting an army as soon as I see the book from Ron and decide what is useful. I could always go Germans, after all I would only need about 5 tanks and a Stuka right? ;D

Travis, Hello, im glad to meet you and hear from you. I used to play at millenuim and still do when time permits. I dont want you to get the wrong impression about us, its not that we "hate" Millenuim its that we want to support our local gaming store. Me, personally spend alot more time at Boldos than at Millenium and its a matter of my time off and friends. If I could I would spend my entire weekend gaming between both stores. Unfortunatly I work on saturdays which seem to be your popular gaming day, sundays/thursday nights are boldos. Convienetly I have those days off.
So please dont take this the wrong way. I will most likely come into your store and see your FoW inventory when you get it. I like to have my stuff on hand rather than wait. Some of us were contemplating even running demos and asking you if it would be ok, just to boost the game and maybe bring in more players.

Ron and everyone else
A couple of answers for you and quick response. I am not asking anyone to buy exclusively from me. My store as well as Alex store rely heavily on our regular customers. Without them we would both have failed years ago i'm sure. I was just hoping we could save you guys some time and cash by coming in and purchasing from us. To be honest, every month I get questions on Bits orders for GW from my players (5-6 a month on average)and I tell them that Alex has the closest shop that handles them and that I have never had a player complain about the service they got there. To touch on the Saturday thing, that just happens to be the time that all of my groups have decided to meet. It's nice because there are a bunch of things going on so if your dice are rolling 1's you can take a break and demo something you wanted to try before you buy. As far as other days of the week go, I don't have anything in stone for FOW. We have had a good bunch of people buying the product, which has been encouraging. Second edition just hit shelves which is another plus for bringing it in now. Everyone is on a bit more level playing field. Anyone can run demo's at any time in our store. The only thing that I ask is, to have a phone call made a couple days before hand, to make sure that I can get everything set up for you when you come in. Aside from Saturdays and Sundays we can pretty much accomodate any night or day of the week. We can do weekend days as well though. We are allowed to use the space in the Dollar General when we want. It's 9k square foot and is just filled with our tables and chairs. We run our bigger tounreys in there and sometimes other groups want to stay out of the chaos as well. Anyone can feel free to call me when they want to game at the store. I am never away for more then 24 hours so if I don't call right away I will call when I get the message. As an update for product, we got a bunch of blisters in today as well as platoon boxes for Soviets and Brits. One more thing that Doug brought up in an earlier post about price matching. He is correct. I will price match with the Warstore as long as you purchase is over 90.00. I don't want people coming in to pick up a pack of Tank decals and expect to get a 10% discount. I'm sure no one would do that, but it has happened in the past so it's better to mention it. Also if you know your coming in when i'm not there (after 5pm every night of the week) call ahead. I will put the item in the hold bin and instruct my employees to give you a discount when you come in. That way neither party has any confusion about what's going on. As always any questions about what we have our specific requests to get something can be sent to travisatmillenniumgamesdotcom. Thanks
Travis

We had a couple of FOW games today going on. We have a healthy stock of blisters and platoon boxes now. Anyone that has specific requests can also call or e-mail me.
Ron,
Definitely get in touch with me when you guys have the details ironed out more. I will make sure you guys are well accomodated when you come. I also intend on informing some of my in house guys that want to learn/play on the dates you guys decide on. So let me know.
