well I have to help out with a pancake breakfast at church and the time runs until about 11, so I wouldn't be able to be there on time. Oh well, they'll be other tournies, and then the wrath of erik will be released. ;D

Kinda funny,
First he goes by the name Evil Erik; Talks about a porn shop; Then can't go to a tournament cause he has to help out at a church function.
I just got a kick out of it.
Anyway, I'll be at the store this sunday erik. It looks like the other erik (hubrich) will also be there.

Courtney in first, Ron in second. All had a good time and few problems this time around. Mostly honest mistakes, although there were a few issues. No Spinner.

We better be careful. They won't want us to come down anymore if we keep winning.

I did very well indeed, I especially love the fact that 5 mission pts were lost bc I needed to kill Ron's Basilisk with my Basilisk. In this corner an IG Bass and in this corner an IW Bass OOOH the IG Bass gets the first shot in but MISSES The IW Bass delivers a KNOCKOUT punch!!! That cost me 5 mp Fantastic games all around even though I placed 6th (but with 5 more Mission pts that would bump me from 14 to 19 , I wonder were I would be then?) MP:14 W/L: 2/1 VP: 2218 Feedback is well appreciated

I lost out on all my battle points in my first round because two of my dreads couldn't take out a gimped Carnifex. He had one wound left, so I charged. Both dreads wiffed and the Carni dropped them both. He consolidated into one of my assault units, which was already fighting another carni and a hive tyrant. I got the pleasure of watching my battle line crumble. You would think that 6 St 10 attacks could finish one wound on a carni...but no....they forgot to turn the fists on.
Oh well. I laughed at it quite a bit. I do wish it hadn't happened...but that's dice for you. Everything had been going well before then.

Round 1 vs Sniper G: A pretty massive exchange of gunfire. My primary was to get three units across the board into Sniper's deployment, which given the wide open board spaces just was not happening. I decided to go for a solid 2 secondaries and do as much damage as I could to stop him from getting anything. Everything went well aside from 2 stupid mistakes on my part. Very good game, and I wish we had more time to play it to it's conclusion.
Round 2 vs Iron Warrior: I played Ron in the city. It hurt.
Round 3 vs Some dude: I don't recall his name, but he was playing the Dark Angles and it wasn't Courtney. Rounds 1 and 2 it was a pretty even match, but his game just fell apart after that. By the time it was all over he had killed 305 pts of my boys and I had taken out 1707 of his. If he hadn't hid his scouts on the far side of the board I could have taken all three missions.
All in all I really like the mission cards. It was a blast play some new people. I agree with the idea that there should be an additional reward for stopping your opponent from accomplishing his objectives, just to add that extra sense of strategy.
As for the den itself, it's a fine establishment. I was surprised at how well the space accommodated so many players. Very well stocked, organized, and above all clean! My only complaint, the incense sticks at the front of the store. I had to take a shower when I got home to wash the smell of dirty hippie from my person.
