Congrats Smithgall and Jay for coming in 3rd place in the freebootas tournement in buffalo. Your prize was a gift card of $25? Thanks for letting us know about this Jay
Terry and myself took 2nd place over all winning $40 gift cards AND The fluff contest winning an addition $10 gift card (see the Mek and the Mad in the fiction section)
Come to find out that we missed the Grand prize of 2 stompas by only 2 points! Which Smithgall and Jay prevented us from scoring in game 2! Good game guys!
Terry and I played a Tau and Guard player round 1, objective was capture 2 objectives, one on our side and one on thiers. We marched across the field butchering poor helpless firewarriors and guardsmen alike. We took both objectives earning us 10 Tournament points.
And game was against Jay and smithgall. 5 objectives, each objective was worth 2 tournament points. We each had 2 and contested the center one, earning us 4 tournament points for a total of 14 now.
3rd game was against 2 freebootas with chaos and orks. They had hard lists and we knew we were in for a fight. It was kill points. Would you believe in a 2000 point battle we squeaked out a victory with 2 kill points to 1. They killed a nob biker squad (sorry Terry) and we killed an Obliterator squad and a Rhino...so you could see it as we won becuase of Rhino. hahahaha! They were nice guys ta boot too! Full points for us 10! Total of 24 points now.
SO we have 24 points you got 6 points if your army was fully painted and we ended with 30 pts. The winners had 32 pts and they played Deamons and Chaos.
I would go back and play in thier tournaments again! This tourney has lifted my spririts about out of town ran tournements since the disaster of the last tournaments we went to at some other distant store.
Just a little side note that they play up until time is called, which is good but this was an extreme way of doing it. If you were in the middle of rolling armor save and time was called...your done! dont roll any more dice. This kept the tournament running timely but alot of the games went unfinished and some events that were in question never got resolved.
Also they dont do pairings of winners fighting winners, they just rotate you waround the tables...for example, round 1 was random table for us. Round 2 we moved on table left and round 3 we moved 2 tables left. (as did everyone else) (So we never got to play the other team that was in contention for 1st place)
Just diffrent ways from us on how they do things. Was a diffrent and neat experience and wanted to share that with the veiwers.
Well...on to the next! See ya at Simcon boyz!

Had a great time playing Da orks with Ron as a teammate, and was overall happy with the tourney.
The Nob bikers took a beating, especially first game where they drew the bulk of the Tau firepower. That firepower included a decked out commander and bodyguard with plasma, missile pods.
Of course while they were busy with them, our boyz squads were marching all the way(and I mean all the way) across the field largely unscathed.
They got the big beatdown in game 3 against Arhiman and a full squad of thousand sons(forgot about the 4+ invul). I felt like the guy was cheating cause he was making psychic checks in the beginning of our turn, maybe Ahriman is just that good however.
While they didnt make their points back in any of the games, most of the rest of my army went largely unscathed. They also took an objective in game 2 cause of my warboss.
Overall the fact that we had alot of boyz was the real kicker.
Another 2nd place, but what the hell more free stuff and who doesnt like free stuff.
Thanks Ron for an enjoyable day of gaming.
I would also attend their tourneys again.

Ahriman is indeed a bad***. he was using his warptime power, which can go off in either player's turn, allowing him to reroll all failed to hit and to wound rolls.

It was a good time, seen some crazy armies. I wish they would of played winners on winners, then we would (and ron and Terry) would of had a chance to win the whole thing.
I would go back agian.
Terry how did that force weapong rules play out?
