The player judged painting rubric has the same point for basing twice.

Unless i missed something in the comp matrix, I dont see anything rewarding you by having a selection from every category(I.E. fast attack, heavy)

I have a problem with a piece of the FAQ. The question regarding Iron Will and God of War says Marines who pass their morale test because of these are subject to no retreat. The normal ATSKNF rule only says this happens if they are caught in a sweeping advance. Nothing happens if the PASS their test, just like any other army.

Please list the section where that rule listed. Is the house rules or the national tournament warhammer tournament FAQ (version 2.2)

rule makes sense to me... your auto pass your test, you count as fearless.

It's the fourth question under Faq part 2 on the GT page. My complaint is with the God of War interpretation. Iron Will doesn't even fit the question since it has nothing to do with Morale.
As for auto passing equalling fealess....it doesn't work that way. Fearless means you always pass. God of War allows you to CHOOSE to pass or fail. Being able to choose means you can choose to fail. If you actually read the ATSKNF rule, the only time marines are subject to no retreat is when they are caught after FAILING a test. This is the trade off for not being destroyed outright. To me, this suggests that if you choose to pass, it is the same as if you rolled a pass. Thats a big difference from Fearless where you have no choice.

in my book, choosing to pass means fearless ><
its the same with tyrannids... they are not fearless, but they always pass the test. just because they don't have the option to fail doesn't change the fact that they auto pass without being fearless, so any unit that auto passes morale should be counted as fearless when dealing no retreat wounds.

Iron Will doesn't even fit the question since it has nothing to do with Morale. How does a rule that states that an " Inquisitor Lord may choose to pass or fail any moral check or pinning test he is called upon to make" have nothing to do with Morale? The No retreat rule is written to not just include fearless units but anything immune to moral checks or allowing them to automaticaly pass them " for some reason" Those who choose to pass or fail still pass without rolling so automatically pass them. (seems to fit the rule book's " or some other special rule" category. Also bothof the rules are volentary both Iron will units and God of war units can also simply take the moral test and roll the dice. Then would not be subject to the "No retreat" rule if they pass.

Ah...that Iron Will. Sorry, I was looking at Yarrik's Iron Will rul. (I hate when they do that.)
Apparently I hadn't read the No retreat rule in a while. I see your point. No more complaint.
