Yes, sister by themselves are not that good. They are a third edition codex.
Look at this way, it is the only that truly uses allies. you see it in the fluff all the time.

Yes, sister by themselves are not that good. They are a third edition codex. What are you talking about? Sisters play fine on their own, they have cheap access to flamers and melta weaponry as well as acts of faith. I think they actually play better when taken as a pure list bescause it increases the faith points you have to satrt with. Yes, adding guard and deamon hunters work but IMO isnt necessary either.

Cool! i'm glad to hear that i didn't want to be top tier but still wanted to be competitive, so far i have for assembly:
1 Rhino 1 sisters squad 1 saint celestine 1 cannoness 2 Seraphim 1 Blister of sisters
ordered from warstore: 1 Immolator 1 sisters squad 1 seraphim squad box
the blister of sisters came without backpacks. . .do I just call up GW and ask for replacements?
also i am doing a blog of the army and a link will be up soon.

Nice job so far.
My comment would be that if I were doing while I would blackline the armor with ink or a tech pen, otherwise it just looks too pasty. I like the NNM that you used. Keep up the good work.
On the army build side, you seem to be under the impression that rhinos are death traps like in 4th edition. Now with entanglement gone they are quite affective. One of the keys to a good sisters build is mobility and maxing your firepower on single targets with mutiple units. Low vehicle count armies make it very easy to kill them, while higher vehicle count forces you opponent to split fire. The mobile rhino wall also provides cover for your seraphim that have become more fragile in 5th edition with the addition of transparent cover. Play what you like, but give some consideration to a bit more mobility.

Sarissa dont really do anything but waste points. Save these points and remove them from your list in favor of:
The book of faith that allows you to test on unmodified leadership. This book is printed in comic book form and given to every sister to read right before battle. Take on or take a bunch!( You will be sorry if you dont! ;D )
Take the flamers or of your troop squads and swap them with the storm bolters in your dominion squad. The way to play the dominions is to drive up, unload, then flame the crap out of your low armor save target ( Orks, Nids, Guard, Deamons). Add the priest to this squad so you can charge and reroll your swings with whatever you didnt cook. Trust me on this one!
Outside of this your list looks good. Play it and see!

Also finally got my hands on 2 penitent engines. The list revision looks like:
2x 10 man girl squad VSS in rhino w/ heavy flamer and melta 2x 10 Man girl squad VSS in rhino w/ flamer and melta
7 seraphim w VSS and inferno pistol girl
5 dominions w VSS and 4 flamers in immolator
exorcist
2x penitent engine
8 celestians w/ heavy flamer and melta in rhino
naked priest
palantine w/ jump pack and eviscerator
cannoness w/ blessed weapon, storn shield and 2+ cloak
faith points-10
5 Rhinos 1 Imo 1 exorcist 2 penitent engines
what i like is that I don't have to buy so many girls, lots of rhinos means lots of freehand space to show off artistic work, mech list seems to be the way to go, lots of faith points.

one question though, the priest doesn't count for an HQ choice but would he count for army comp purposes?
Thanks! Adriel

one question though, the priest doesn't count for an HQ choice but would he count for army comp purposes? I dont see where he would necessarily help your comp score nor should he hurt it. A priest is similar to a chaplain where you get to reroll hits in CC but the drawback is that you have to charge when you can. placed with the right unit (Cellestians or Dominions) and he provides a huge buff! Overall the list looks playable and competitive, good luck and get painting!

I mostly agree with Doug.
you have to take a preist to take a Penitent Engine
Taking a penitent engine is huge bonus points in my books.
