one of the biggest costs for me is going to be travel down... I really don't like flying, its not very comfortable, the seats are too small for a guy like me. I drive a pickup though... and it would cost me a total of $180 in gas to drive there and back. Maybe another $20 in tolls. Anyone want to carpool? I don't mind driving the distance, and $100 per person would be significantly cheaper than airfare. Also, i'd be willing to take any armies, (got lots of spare room in the back) so those of you who ARE flying won't have to bother with shipping... I'd even do it for a discount rate over UPS

I'm potentially interested. Does your truck have a cap on it?

I've heard plenty about this Adepticon thing, but never really considered going. Now that I know people I know are going, it has gone under consideration.
So, my question for any Vets, is it worth it? Looks like a lot of stuff to do, the biggest draws for me are the big 40k and Fantasy tournies (not so much the gladiator or team stuff) and maybe the combat patrol and warbands, and, Emperor forbid, maybe the PP demo stuff.
Would it be worth going?

heh, chum, my group is looking for 1 more for the team tournament, and we are doing a bike theme... I know you have ravenwing, if you could get 1000 points of that together we'd be all set with 4.

That sounds nifty, but if I'm reading things right if I bring DA and y'all bring SM we would be mixed Codex and I can't use RW without Sammael unless I brought Tactical Squads, which aren't very Bikey. I could just use the vanilla book though.
I like it, good plan.

@ Chum.. I went to Adepticon last year for the first time and had a Blast.. There is definitely tons of things to do and not enough time to do it all. I plan to go every year that I can swing it..

Horst,
Any word on a 4th?
Would like to know we have a solid team before I start picking up some of the missing models I'll need for my list.

We plan on buying on plan tickets in the next two weeks if anyone is interested in flying out with us.
We also plan on renting a car once we are out there so if you need a ride lets us know.

Looks fun, someone told me about it yesterday at the tournament. I'm considering going.

I believe adepticon to be something everyone should go to at least once. I went several years back for the first time and again since and it is an experience that is unlike any other in the gaming community. I only played in the team tourneys but several of my friends went through the seminars and use the skills some of the top modelers/painters use. The forgeworld store is open and you can get some great deals on their products as well as the many other sponsors. Bits trading for me is where it is outside of the tournament.
