Greetings,
I do not think I understand your first paragraph, can you explain it a little, brother Skyth?
Yes, the idea of comp is to make it so armies that have cheased out silliness cannot come to the tournament with it or they will lose points. Like Star Dragons with Dragon Princes, Chaos Greater Daemons, Varlitch, Archaon, Chaos Lords on Dragons, ect ect. Or the armies that have almost no core points, those are wrong too.
I feel like if someone disagrees with Brother Boldo's comp system, it is because they like to play cheasy armies. Mayby you can put one of your army lists on here so I can look at it? I feel like unless you play wacked-out armies, then the new comp chart does not hurt you that much. I think it sticks to the flavour of the game much better then without it.
I do not think there is a point defending cheasy armies: they are good if you do not want to think too much, that is all really. The only reason to use any of that stuff is for flavour, you know, "Fluff". For normal games (and non huge games) they are too overpowered.

To put it simply...Two armies that are otherwise the same, if one has an Exalted Hero and the other has a unit of 10 Chaos Warriors, I would find the one with the Chaos Warriors to be more powerful. However, the one with the Exalted Hero will be at least 5 points lower in comp, and possibly 10 points. (Which is the equivalent of turning a win into a draw or a loss).
The bias in Boldo's comp system is against what makes Warhammer Fantasy a Fantasy game. You say fantasy to me and I think of magic, mighty heros, and thier warband. Most of the non-order armies in the Warhammer world are described as being warbands. (Warriors, Daemons, Dark Elves, Skaven, Vampires)
And btw, I REALLY like your implication that if someone doesn't like Boldo's comp they are a bad person...It really makes this a friendlier place...</Sarcasm>

and its things like this that make me avoid events like this all together...
love it, hate it, whatever. arguing the effectiveness or equality in a comp list is irrelevant when the person organizing the tournament is going to implement the system anyway...
if you disagree with it and dont wanna play with it, dont, save everyone an earful...

That's the point...I am not playing with that comp system in effect.

so there was really no point in trying to smash his defense of boldos comp, right?

Actually, explaining my position and countering inflammatory rhetoric is enough reason.

I sort of have to agree with skyth here. Of course if you would go back to last year's simcon thread you would see why...
I think I had a -2 because I have a different playstyle than 'the rochester playstyle.' Anyone who played my army then could tell you it is in no way cheesey though.
At the very least Skyth has the right to disagree with the comp, even if he's not right.
Boldo's comp system has a lot of holes that kill a few armies, wood elves and brettonians being the two main ones that i think get hit hard...
