alright, alot of interest in this RTT... its about a 2.5 hour drive, fyi.
If you want to go, please post in this thread so we can organize some transportation. If you can drive, excellent, post how many people your car can hold (including armies) and i'll update this post as I go, so we can keep a count going. Just because you can drive, doesnt mean you have to, just gives us more options. Of course, if your not driving, its only appropriate to split the cost of gas to drive down there with the person who is.
Horst (steve) - can drive, 1 passenger slot available.

I am not sure if I will be able to go, so at this point it's pure speculation. If I'm able to go, I won't be able to drive (not until the week after according to my doctor) and I'll need space to stow my crutches (just in case). If anybody is willing to accommodate me, I'll gladly reciprocate the kindness with gas money, food or whatever.

I am giving serious thought to going.
*edit* Almost as soon as I wrote this, I realized that I couldn't make it.

I'm planning on going. I was going to drive, but i'm more than willing to be a passenger... more people in the car = more ways to split gas, and my pickup truck isn't great on mileage.

After mulling it over, I've decided not to attend. This kind of event just isn't my bag. I don't want to drive 3 hours to go play dress up with my dollies, though I would drive 3 hours to play "pew pew you're dead!" with my army men

you know, in the end, as long as your army is well painted and your list is well mixed and balanced, it IS the battlepoints that will determine the game.
All it means is that you can't slack off and take a crappy painted army, or take a super hard 15 thunderwolf calv list. You need to excell in ALL aspects of the hobby, not just one.
I've been to 2 binghamton RT's so far. Everyone here has seen my army (most of you anywho)... I don't play something OVERLY soft, and my painting is probably only slightly above average, if that. Still, i've had a great time both times i've been there, and even managed to win once, beating out chris courtney the last time we went down there.
and they have recently expanded their play area, so if your familiar with the store, its gotten bigger. nicer to play in.

When and where is the event? Link by any chance?
Edit I just found the earlier post. A 2k 40K 3 round event...I am very interested in this. Also if we can get a coherent plan together before tomorrow night I can provide transport as well. I have a Crewmax Tundra with plenty of room for 4-5 adults and plenty of room for armies in the back. Rules for transport would be you MUST be clean and hygenic. No whiners or cryers heh. Riders split gas. There is a lot of room in this truck but driving 5 hours will drain the gas tank. I will pay the tolls but everyone else riding splits gas (figure about $65 ballpark).
Anyone interested?
2ND edit- Mapquest shows Rochester to Binghamton is almost 3 hours. May take a little more gas hehe. We would need to leave by 630 am ish?

Well, i'd definitely like to go, and if your driving, so much the better. I drive a small pickup truck, so any armies would have to go in the bed, and I don't do much better on gas mileage (18-19 MPG highway, at best...) I travel past binghamton often, on my way home to jersey. If you take 90 east to 690 east, just before syracuse, and take 690 to 81 south, then 81 south to 17 into binghamton, the ride is about 2.5 hours. Very easy ride, as well... very few turns. With an 11:00am start time, i'd say allow 3 hours to get there (shouldnt take that long, but i'd hate to drive all that way and be late), and plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early... so i'd say a 7:30am departure would be fine, so long as we don't stop for breakfast or anything. I'm willing to split gas, definitely, i'd expect the same. Hopefully terry is still interested in going, I sent him a PM, no response yet. I'm not sure i've ever played you... fishboy. Just if your going, make sure you understand that this tournament will place army composition and painting in very high focus. I've brought people there twice.. the first time, I brought a guy who took 4th edition nidzilla... with 9 monstrous creatures. he got a VERY low comp score, crushed everyone (well, I nearly tabled him in round 3, but he edged me out by a hair in killpoints....), left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Second time I brought a guy who took a fateweaver/bloodcrusher daemons list... didn't do very well, AND nobody really liked playing against him with their fluffier, more well comped lists. Just a warning

Paint wise I am typically on the top end of the scale. Heh its pretty much the reason I play hehe. Comp I should be okay as I don't really power game by any means. I am in the process of relocating to Rochester from Atlanta and have only had the opportunity to play Shaun. I have met Jay and a few other guys at a paint night and really enjoy the group. Plan on one stop for gas and Starbucks hehe. Typically I like to arrive early but since you have made the trip I will trust you on time. Armies will go in the bed but it has a hard plastic bed cover so it is like being in a very large trunk heh. Where do we want to meet? I am in Greece at the Residence Inn.

ah, thats where the discrepancy in travel time is coming from then;
you live about 20 minutes north of me. I live just near millenium games, which probably isn't too far out of your way. Not sure if you've been there yet, but you would just take 390 to exit 16a, then follow that to rt15 south (west henrietta road) to millenium games, which will be on your right, after a mile or two.
If you'd want to stop for coffee (and lets face it, coffee is probably a good idea when facing a full day of wargaming), we should probably meet there at 7:15, just to give a little extra leeway... which would mean you'd probably need to leave around 7:00.

Sounds like a winner. I have Millenium games in my GPS from a few months ago. I remember seeing a post that they were moving? For some reason I am having trouble with their website also to verify their addy.
I will plan on getting to Millenium around 7am to make sure we get loaded up.
How many others are coming?
