how many spots for apocalypse are open?
a few people were wondering how big the games would be, just wondering if i can get a figure of how many are sold and how many are available
From what information I have, there is only one team signed up. That's a team of four, as Chaos, on the Ash-World City table. DSwanick has put himself on that table as an Imperial player. And I've put myself on the Tarokeen table as Tau, playing the Govenor's Palace Defense.
With each of the three tables taking two teams of four, there are 24+ slots total... six spoken for leaves 18 slots left to fill. But since it's really open at this point, players and points totals are flexible.
I'm hoping there will be more interest in the Apoc games. With less than a month to go, I've seen no new sign-ups and no new team chatter. Not to get discouraged, but I've put a hundred hours of labor into these tables, and it would be a shame to set all of this up just for show-and-tell.
Would it help people if we lifted the painting restriction? I know it would be "ideal" to have fully painted armies on the table, but this is not part of the Tourney. It might be restrictive and discouraging to some people to come up with 4k of pained minis in the time we have left. I would rather this be a fun event than a chore... more play than work. (I know personally, I have 12k of Tau, but only around 3k fully painted up. Do I spend quality time with friends and family, or try to paint that last 1k of minis.) Would that get players to the table?
