Good Morning everyone, I recently finished recording the Warbanner with Phil who is organizing the event and in case you aren't subscribers I will go into the details of the tourney here for you.
Last Man Standing:
Ten dollar entry
1000 points
1 HQ, 1 Troop compulsory
The rest of the points can be spent how you see fit
The date is Feb 12th and registration will be starting at noon. The location is Gateway Games in Erie PA, here is the address and phone number for the event:
930 W Erie Plz
Erie, PA 16505-4536
(814) 874-3772
Each table will be divided equally between the number of gamers, each round a playing card will be dealt out, this determines turn order, there are special cards which can be used to disorient this. Its randomly determined every Game Turn.
Last year over 400 dollars in prize support was given out and we hope to do even more this year.
Once each table has battled it out to only one army is left atop it, 2 tables will be placed together, the terrain may or may not stay the same and the players choose deployment zones, generally the center 12 inches of each table edge. There is an objective in the middle representing a special reward. The final army standing is the overall winner.
Deep striking armies can choose the table they wish to deploy on and will arrive via deep strike. No more than one deep striking army can deploy on the same table unless there is overlap.
One thing we have had in the past was the forming of an alliance with one other army, you must declare it and hand it to the organizer this alliance can however be used against you for one of the prizes we give out each year is turning on an alliance member and removing them from the table, yes we reward such actions and it has led to some interested grudge matches.
Phil has gone through alot of work this year making the event flow more smoothly than previous years and this is the big event Erie throws every year, we would be happy to see any of the Rochester crew make it down and attend.
If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer as promptly as possible, also for more information the latest episode of the WarBanner will have more details and a discussion related to this tourney, last I checked it was not up just yet but should be within the next few days Phil assures me.
Thank you.
Bryan
