Nice comp system. Seriously. Why hasn't anyone else thought of this.

You mean like this? At the end of the tournament, each player ranks their opponent's comp 1-6, six being favorite comp list. You have a possible range from 6 (six 1 votes) to 36 (all 6 votes). Scale that up or down as needed for comp.

I just looked through the GT results. I'm not positive since I am not up on the names of all of the newer (read last few years) local players, or how you want to define local. But I believe Terry would be the next eligible player not already in your list above. I'll send Smitty my excel sheet to double check.

I'm pretty sure patrick took 1st at the no-comp event right before the ATC. It would have been May.

so how do you think comp will generally be scored in the eyes of the public? im assuming no more than one of each unit equals good comp?

It's gonna be pretty subjective based on who you play. Some of us are anti-comp, will probably bring "harder" lists, get scored lower, but score others more easily. Some of us are pro-comp and aren't afraid to ding someone that plays hero-spam-hammer.
In the end, everyone is only ranking their 3 opponent's lists so you can bring something harder than "no dupes" and still comp well as long as a couple other guys bring "harder" lists.
I'll be bringing a "harder" list in terms of the GT rubric comp score. My GT list scored 80/80 on the rubric but my invitational list would be 40/80, but still very legal so not much spam or special characters.
If your army is fully painted, I wouldn't even sweat the comp aspect. It's 18? pts max if all 3 opponents give you best comp. Battle points are 66? pts max.
It's a free tournament for those who qualified and comes with some bragging rights so play what you enjoy the most and don't let the worry of a comp ding dictate your list. I learned this the hard way at last year's invitational where I brought a "no dupe" list and had to face 9 oblits, two princes, and all plague marines in the first round =)

the rule for pizza has always been a certain number of people attending. Think this is because travis need a certain amount of people paying to make it worth it financially for him. Think we hit that number, but no one paid. add that to travis putting up $300 in prizes, he's in the hole a bit for this month. I expected nothing on the food front this month knowing it was a free tourney and planned for that.
