Ogres gave my dark elves a hell of a time the last couple of times i played against them, between mournfangs, stonehorns and maneaters im not having a lot of fan, mind you ive still done a lot of damage between using okrams on witches combined with my cauldron, and gotten wither and pit of shades off..they just hit so hard ..taking 2 level 4's works wonders..but that wont be as easy with skave considering the big spell wont affect monstorus infantry..now i assume most of its going to rely on having his big units tarpitted and ill need to take away his charge to avoid impact hits, but other than plague monks and gutter runners i dont really have much thats going to do damage, HPA isnt too hot against them and i run 2 cannons, but i need to figure something out and could use some help

just played jarrett messings ogres at crossroads and tied him...its seems to me that using cracks call is your best weapon. take it with a level 4 seer is you can. you will be sinkin ogres into the ground quite regularly. cannons are great you just have to line up the shots. try lining a cannon on each side of the board and shoot them out in lines laterally. hpa is good against bulls and that is about it. the doomwhell is good but you gotta drive around and not get in combat. i have playtested plague against them a lot and ruin just always seems better.
p.s. take lots of rat darts for chaff and deployment. the more deployments you have the esier it is to react to what he puts down.

So I've been consistently running 4 rat darts of 5w pm 2x35 clan rats hW/shield 3x 50 slaves, 1x 50 plague monks 3x7 gutters w slings and poison 1wlc and 2 hpa w a grey seer w small, a kitted out warlord on war litter plague priest Bsb w storm banner and 2I Lvl 1 warlocks for extra die generation opportunity..and I realize that I really have no issues w ogres if I can pr-emptively charge them, generally charge blocking w darts than charging w slaves and hpa but even bulls are hell to take on...I did get cracks call last Saturday which helped but he was smart picking his angles and controlling the board but I managed to scrape out a minor victory w a cracks call wrecking a stonehorn and 4I ironguts in 1 phase..also a big thing I noticed each time playing ogres in recent months, flame banners, warlord w the dragon helm w a 2+ ward vs flaming is key, hpa's get eaten pretty fast by relatively anything in this army and overall it just feels like a tough matchup..on the flipside its probably because my dark elves have such an easy tine beating down ogres that I Havnt really adapted to playing them w skaven...having access to shadow has helped me rape ogres w delves (okkams and corsairs or witches=dead anything)..any other tips are greatly appreciated this game was the difference between 1stsports anplace place :/

what ive been doing is minimizing the amount of characters...weapon teams and such that you have becasue some spells target characters and such and score the opponent easy points. hell pit is bad against ogres. doomwheel can be too. Ogres IMO is one of my worst matchups. Other than chaos daemons. <---- everybodys worst matchup. I have 3 units of 50 slaves, 1 unit of 50 stormvermin pushing the seers bell(this is where stormbanner goes) doomwheel h-bomb 2 warplightning cannons and a bunch of gutter runners. throw in the 3 throw away rat darts and the Army is Brutal. plague priest weakening ogres for stormvermin to gobble in to weed him out of myup is pretty good too. but im trying to weed him outta my list.
