So the Sinister steel hit the board Sunday against thier arch nemisis who just seem to keep coming back from devistating defeats. The 13th Grand Company of Iron Warriors verse The Iron Dragons Space Marine Chapter.
Myself verse Special Dave. Fun game where he taught me about flyers and how annoying they can be. Interesting though. Dave and I have been bashing our forces against one another for a few years now and we tried out hand out at the first offical challange of 6th edition for these two rival armies.
I must say I like the way the game has turned out. A few things I find sort of annoying and/or dissapointing but over all I like the way things turned out. It was a fun game though I thought I was in trouble when all those drop pods and flyers I saw come out. Luckily for me they came out in piece mail and I was able to focus the 'iron furnace' on Daves marines.
We did the random terrain set up, diangle deployment and the crusade mission with 3 objectives. Warlord traits: we both got the furious charge if in you opponents deplyment zone. Boo for me since 3 of the objective were placed in my deployment zone. I guess he was planning on assualting my lines. Which he did fairly well.
Snap shots cuase one charge of his to fail which cost him a flyer.
Diffacult terrain caused another charge to fail which cost him a unit.
Asteroth Hellforge, aka "Lobaddon" (version 4) was armed with his deamon weapon which to some of my dispay was a two handed giant hammer. Rules say hammers or rather maces? are ap 4, concussive blow? But it is also a deamon weapon. So I couldn't get an exact ruling on it so I just played it as both. An ap 4, concusive blow, took the slaneesh mark so it instant killed. Makes send for a huge hammer.
Ended up killing both captains with it even though they had artificer armor on!
All in all good game dave, was great fun. Was awesome seeing the old crew out, huge Orc/Necron vs Nurgle/Necron fight was played right beside us. See ya'll next sunday!
