Well it's all up and available for preorder. A few thoughts..
1) Screw all you comp a-holes who think you have to take a variety of troops. Looks like Chaos will join the ranks of Sisters where only one basic troop choice will be available.
2) Cult armies look to be out unless you can unlock them by taking a special character. Looks like GW screwed us again and crammed all the fun stuff into the elite slot.
3) The Dragon is a fast attack and at $75. I want one but might have to take out a loan to get three.
4) Vindies are still in as heavies (LOL, Tommy!), as well as preds, land raiders, defilers, and the new forgefiend/mauler. Havocs too but they are finecrap, and there is one more choice....hmmm what would that be???
5) Yes I like the mutators but again there are so many choices in the elite spot that something will get squeezed out.
6) Same old crappy Abaddon sculpt, nice fail GW! The Warpsmith and Dark Apostle look good but will have to wait and see how they fit in. Cypher is an HQ...hmmm?
7) Spawn will most likely still suck.
8) No dreads anywhere? Will that be another elite choice in an already overcrowded slot?
9) Nothing on cultists or anything that might confirm the rumored zombie troops for death cult.
10) Again this better be a good but for $50 or I swear Phil Kelly will pay, as well as the rest of the GW flunkies!!!

Don't they have CSM and Cultists as troops? Or did I miss a leak somewhere?
Finecast Havoks are you kidding? One of each weapon lol. Backwards progress if you ask me. There's going to be a lot of conversions out there if they're the first unit to receive flakk missiles.

Yea im not too happy about all the cult troops moving to elites, pretty much invalidates my black legion army.
Prolly gonna go with 2 squads of plague marines,a squad of regular marines, and then some cultists for variety.
I think the hellbrute is gonna be an elite also.I do like the hellbrute, nice combo of shooty and assault.
Im not a fan of the forgefiend and maulerfiend at all, so at least they wont compete with the vindies or the defiler for me.
Still the same crappy oblit. models also.
I think we gonna see alot of mech'ed up chaos in the future.

Dunno if you saw this yet Doug:
"Special Rules Obliterator Weapons: Kyborgs may chose one of the following weapons: Assault Canon, Heavy Flamer, lasCannon, Multimelta, Twinlinked Flamer, TL Plasmagun or TL meltagun. All obliterators must chose the same weapon. They may not chose the same weapon twice in a row. The twice in a row penalty is a little harsh, but it is nice to have assault cannons in the mix. Mutilator Weapons: Pick one of the following at the start of any combat phase the mutilator is in close combat: Pair of: Lightning Claws, Chain Fists, Power Swords, Power Mauls. All Mutilators must pick the same weapon, and may not chose the same weapon two combat steps in a row. "
That's a pretty heafty hit to oblits. No more plasma cannons or power fists and they can't morph the same weapon two turns in a row. More weapon options tho and maybe they'll be t5.

On the plus side, they've added: Dark Apostles Warp Smiths Cultists Mutilators Mauler Fiends Forge Fiends Hell Brutes Warp Talons Hell Drake Chosen Terminators (?)
And probably some I've missed or forgotten. All of that on top of the old units with the only loss being the standard dreadnought will make CSM the most diverse codex as far as unit options go. If marked HQ's make cult marines troops and Abbaddon makes chosen troops, there will be so many build options (hopefully) we'll see some really diverse armies.

What would be really cool, is if u could have 2 different marked lords making 2 different cult troops choices i.e. noise marines and plague marines as troops.

No I hadnt seen the rumor about not taking the same mutation twice in a row. At this point I have pretty much written off most rumors since you will see a flood of them now as the codex approaches, some true but many the result of wishful thinking. This one sounds plausible but the true impact cannot be measured for this or anything else until we see point values and real rules.
I did not count cultists in troops since at this point we do not know anything solidly. For all that we know they may be as useful as Fersian Wolves and not scoring. Who knows?
Necrons will most likely keep the mech lists in check coupled with the fact that most of those models will probably be wicked expensive points wise, but again this is speculation on my part.
At this point I still see most future chaos armies being elite heavy. The real determining factor will be decided by point value and war gear. Oh yeah, and spawn will still suck.

There's some photocopies of the codex here: darkfuturegaming.blogspot.com/2012/09/chaos-marines-special-rules-and.htmlLooks like the stuff will be pretty balanced between point costs and competition for elite/heavy slots. Different rules for marks, icons, rewards, and daemon princes of each diety now. Holy USR's batman. Units with mark of khorne and knorne standard will have rage, counterattack, furious charge, and reroll charge distance. Ahriman and Maulerfiends here: natfka.blogspot.com/2012/09/ahriman-and-maulerfiends.htmlLooks like Maluer Fiends move 12", ignore terrain, have 3 str10 power fist attacks, and generate extra attacks with magma cutters similar to Furioso w/ talons but str8 ap1.

Yes, evil marines will be a big change from good marines ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Paint them green "counts as" Necrons to ally with the Aurora "counts as" BA.

.... I was honestly thinking of painting them as green marines, and calling them Traitor Aurora marines.

Go for it dude. You know none of my armies follow the GW fluff. I write my own.
Aurora can have a traitor counterpart if you want it to.
