March 8-10 is Rudicon at RIT in the student Union and we will be having the Rochester Warhammer Championship there.
Saturday March 9 there is a 40k team tournament at 10am. Teams are composed of 2 players each with 1500pt armies. The armies use standard construction rules except each player can only take 2 elites, 2 fast attacks and 2 heavy attacks.
Sunday March 10 there is a 2000pt fantasy tournament starting at 10am. This is a single tournament. Armies can use only a maximum of 12 casting or dispel dice. There can no more than 4 shooting attacks in any army which do not roll to hit including breath weapons.
Players will be judged for composition, painting and sportsmanship. Both tournaments will have individual winners and there will be additional prizes for the highest combined score in both tournaments.

For the 40k team tourney: How long are the rounds? How many Rounds? Are tables going to be pre-set terrian or player set?
Can both player's take fortifications? if so can they take two of the same?
What are the missions? Book or something from the T.O.
Thanks in advance.

Why not post this in the 40k section? There will be 3 rounds with set terrain and 2.5 hours a round. Both players must take a valid army so they could take the same fortifications and missions will be announced then and will be slight variations on the book missions.

The 40k tournament has always been well attended and last year we got 12 teams but have had as many as 20. The fantasy tournament has been less well attended with 4 last year and 12 our largest. Of course the fantasy has double the prizes if you play in the 40k.

well, another almost all beef and wing fantasy tourny (like running gagg). 4 people showed up. me(ogres), craig (skaven), evan (wood elves) came from beef and wing. and greg from rochester (warriors of chaos). We had fun an all sat together for lunch. I know ive met Greg before, but today was first time really having some time to talk to him. Real nice guy, Thanks for the great game!
Evan won with wood elves, making this the second tourney in a row in rochester that wood elves won.
I won best painted army (felt a little like vindication for my horrible painting score at Daboyz GT)
As a side note, I lost all 3 games. this gives me a modern era fantasy tourny record of 1-7. my only win was a hard fought slug fest i won againgst kevin at Daboyz where i had to use every dirty trick in the book, eventually winning by distacting him and his daughter with Nogles rot.

Evan and I had one of the most edge of your seat fortitude games possible. 4 fort to 3 with a break point of 2. 30 archers trying to shoot my seer off the bell while i blow them up or sink a tree for the win. anybodies game from turn one to 4 with one good roll.....insanity.
