Okay my new Eldar list for 6th edition leaves me room for a defense line and gun. Where I am perplexed is do I go with the Lascannon or the quad gun. Using the quad gun means I have to shift some models around and reduce the squad sizes of my dire avengers.
I have two flyers in my list for anti air but the anti air gun gives me first shot ability.
Is the Aegis line and defense gun worth it? I have not played a lot of games in 6th but where I have seen these played they really have not done that much.
What is your experience?

I would not take lascaoon or quad gun if you already had anti-air.
there are better weapons in the codex then those.

I use a flyer with the defense line i would recommend the quad gun and remember only models touching the defense line get the cover if there is a tall model such as a flyer or wraithknigh close enough because of the true line of sight. Also if a squad touching the defense line is assaulted the assaulter only needs to touch the defense line to get to you. If your not touching they take a difficult terrain test. Also if someone is up a level say on a hill or in a building generally only the models within 2in of the line receive the cover bonus again remember true line of site. Last and most important the gun is its own unit if it is assaulted along with the unit controlling it this assault is considered disordered because its 2 units.
