February 15th 2014 Warhammer 40k Good vs. Evil Tournament:
This month's tournament in Erie will be a Good vs Evil format. Meaning players will be split into two groups: Imperials & Xenos/Chaos. If you are using an Allied Detachment in your army, you must follow the setup of using all Imperials if you're playing on the "Good" side, or all Xenos/Chaos if you are playing on the "Evil" side.
**** Important Note: If you are planning on playing in the event, please let me know which side you will be playing on so we can get a rough idea for sides, thank you.
General Information:
• Entry Fee: $15
• Location: Game Corps (if you need directions to the game store, please let me know.
• The Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition rules will be used.
• Armies will consist of 2,000pts.
• Players may use one Force Organization Chart.
• Players may take up to one Allied detachment and/or 1 Fortification.
• Additionally, players may take up to 1 Dataslate and/or Lord of War
• All players must have the following to participate:
- Army List
- Rulebook
- Codex(s)
- Any additional rules and/or FAQ’s
General Rules:
• All players must have their army list with them. All army lists will be checked by the Tournament Organizer by the end of round #1.
• If any illegal units and/or rules violations are found in a player’s list, at the minimum, the models and/or units in violation will be removed from all subsequent play. Also, tournament points may be deducted and/or the player may be removed from the tournament.
• If a player is found to have models and/or units in violation & they are removed, all of their opponents throughout the tournament will be credited with Victory Points for the unit(s).
• Cheating will not be tolerated. Cheating affects the quality of the experience for all of the players & creates a significant disruption for everyone involved in the tournament. Proof of cheating will lead to forfeiture from the tournament without refund and possible ban from future events.
• Quitting will not be tolerated. Quitting affects the quality of experience for all of the players & creates a significant disruption for everyone involved in the tournament. If a player decides to leave/quit a tournament early for any illegitimate reason, no refund will be proved and that player will not be allowed to participate in the following month’s tournament.
• Please make sure that all models in your army are easily identifiable to your opponent. Counts as models may be used, but your opponent must be made aware as to what the unit is.
• Power Weapons – In any case where a model is armed with one or more Power Weapons, you must model the weapon to the appropriate type (sword, axe, maul, lance, etc…). Also, in your army list, it must be noted what Power Weapon type the model is equipped with.
• Warlord Traits: As described in the Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition rule book on page 111.
Terrain:
• Terrain will be preset on all tables but is not fixed. See ruling on Fortifications on the next page.
Fortifications:
• All of the Fortifications in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook & Stronghold Assault are allowed.
• Fortifications placed on the table may not be within 3” of another piece of terrain.
• You are allowed to slightly shift terrain so it is a minimum of 3” away from a fortification.
• If you are running any Fortification in your army, you must have the actual Fortification model or an acceptable WYSIWYG conversion of the Fortification that is the same dimensions as the model it is representing. Also any conversions must be approved by the Tournament organizer prior to the event.
Escalation Expansion:
• The Expansion Rulebook: Escalation is allowed for this tournament.
• Remember if you are running a Lord of War, or facing a Lord of War that the following rules are in effect:
o “Impending Doom”
o Through Attrition, Victory”
Forgeworld:
• Forgeworld units and/or army lists will be allowed at the tournament.
• Restrictions (the following are not allowed):
- Units labeled as “Apocalypse Only”.
- Units labeled with “Experimental Rules”
- Strategic Assets, Stratagems, etc…
• If you are using a Forgeworld unit(s) and/or army list, you must have all of the rules & faq’s for them with you.
• Gargantuan Creatures, Super Heavies, and Lords of War will be allowed if there are approved Forgeworld 40k rules for the units.
• All rules must be the most current rules set for the units.
• If you are running any Forgeworld units in your army, you must have the actual Forgeworld model. If there is no model from Forgeworld, an acceptable WYSIWYG conversion will be allowed.
Horus Heresy:
• If you are using a Horus Heresy army list, you must have all of the rules & faq’s for them with you.
• All models in the army must be from the Forgeworld Horus Heresy range. The only exception to this rule are the original GW models that were designed to look like Heresy models.
• Experimental rules and Primarchs are not allowed in this event.
• Horus Heresy army may only ally with other Heresy armies.
• Any rules anomalies and inconsistencies that occur with the 40k rulebook and the Heresy rulebook will be ruled in favor in accordance with the 40k rulebook.
