What does everone think?
I do not think it is right you can win with a army you got off ebay.
Chris, can i borrow your Tau army for the next GT?
Does anyone plan on going to any of them.

I think it's a breath of fresh air in a game that too often suffers from it's own inflexible attitudes. If you want to play, and only to play, and you have the dough, it makes total sense to let you slap down a couple hundred bucks and run with it.
They come right out and say you can't win painting or players choice with someone else's army, borrowed or otherwise. What you can win is categories that rely on you as a sportsman and a player in general.
I think it will be good not only in introducing players who otherwise wouldn't attend, but also in keeping those players as a permanent part of the 40k fan base, which honestly needs all the people it can get.

I agree Jay, it does seem unsporting that you can play in a tournament and represent yourself with an army that is not your own. I feel a huge part of the hobby is the creation of your army. When I play at tournaments I like to see what others have done with their armies, not what they have bought. I do think this opens a can of worms though, after all how does GW expect to enforce this, lie detector tests, locking everyone in a room with a mini and a paintbrush maybe just to prove we painted our own armies? I think Courtney should paint my next army for US competition, although we both know he doesn't paint well enough to win best painted north of the border. Maybe next year GW will change their policies so Courtney can paint my army, Shaun or Ron can play it, and I can receive my trophy for winning, that sounds fair right?

HAY, WAIT A MINUTE, THERE IS A GUY WITH ONE ARM WHO PLAYS AT MILLENNIUM, ARE YOU GONNA DING HIM 20% EVERY TOURNAMENT FOR PAINTING OR NOT? There is a blind painter who writes in caps all the time who can't paint worth a crap, we don't ding him. BTW, it is either Alan or Michael Perry of Games Workshop (pretty sure it is Alan) who only has one arm due to an accident. He still can paint better than 99% of everyday people, so what's your point? AT LEAST YOUR SON'S NECRONS AREN'T BLACK PRIMER! ;D ;D ;D Umm, yes they are. I personally primered everything he plays with BLACK. P.S. I WON 3 OUT OF THE LAST 4 PAINTING COMPETITIONS ON THURSDAY NIGHTS! Was that the Helen Keller 40K invitational tournament series? PLEASE STOP THE SILLINESS, AND COMMENT ON THIS MONTHS TOURNEY. Nothing has been said or decided due to the holiday, why, would you like to run one? ;D ;D ;D HAVE A NICE DAY, CIAO! Right back at ya, Puffy!

Okay... deep breath... ahh screw it
Okay, ive been entered in one paining contest, i came in first, no big deal, and wait, thursday night painting contest?? Is there such a thing?
I dont think i ever saw you use a painted army consisting of more than 10 models! (except the Necrons) Theyre good and all, but yea, the Iron Hands have got you beat, the whyches will probably have you beat when their done, and the tomb kings are starting to kick @ss!!
Yup, they are.
Are you Ron from the future??? What do you have against black primer, especially black primer on a mostly black army?
Good God, now I know what it feels like when I talk!!!

Hey now, I dont like black primer becuase I dont like the way the mini turns out, but I dont go aorund preaching to people that thier army is not painted because its black primer-ed.
I think major SOB has some really good painted minis, perhaps not the best like Courtney, jay or shuan but definatly among the top 5-6. I have seen a bunch of his painted minis and I hate to say it, but since you brought it up, he is Better than you at painting Dragon, imo.
Im glad GW is enforcing this policy. Though tough as it will be to enforce, it will prevent what Major sob said about Courtney painting and army and having someone else play it so a third can get the trophy. That sounds far fetched but I agree with it.
Whats this even got to do with a one armed painter? If he wants to enter a painting compitetion with his disability then let him. I dont think he should be judged any diffrently than anyone else. Should color blind people be judge diffrently? Kids with ADD? How about people that just cant paint? Screw that, painting is apart of the hobby, what do you want them to do mainstream that too? Maybe they can come out with pre painted minis and eveyone gets a 100 for a painting score!

The one -armed guy at millenium who dragon was talking about is Greg, he used to play 40k long ago and still plays bloodbowl if i remember right. He never was much of a painter though As far as black primer goes? I use it on almost all my armies, including the Brettonians, I like the way I paint over it and will likely never paint anything using white primer ever again. I tried on the Brets and it was a failure.

OK Steve, now that you know we are alive, what about you?
Any chance you can sneek past Mrs. Dragon and play a game some sunday at Boldo's?
Any new pictures of your progress on your next "painted" army, is it Armored Company, or the Chaos/Iron Warriors/Khorne Beserkers? ( Tan Krylon or Red fingerpaint does not count )
How about Assault Phase 07, are you signed up and planning on attending?
