So, a few weeks ago, we were talking about doing a huge group game some weekend with common armies between us regulars and part-time WHFBs. Orcs & Goblins vs. some other army, most likely Dwarfs came to mind since these seem to be the most common locally. Just putting this out there for some ideas & input -
O&G - Jason and I can probably put close to 4K each, Norton I'd guess close to 3K. Jim in Buffalo probably would drag his waaagh to rochester with at least 2250. Anyone else out there have green troops to commit?
Dwarfs - Boldo probably 6K alone. Then theres Shortbus, Nick, Jordan, Jerry, (list goes on) with various counts of 2K+ each.
What about adding an ally to each side, Dwarfs & Empire vs O&G and Ogres?
Obviously Special characters are showing up to this one!
Maybe use the big game rules from the General's Compendium with a field marshal and numerous generals.
Limit on magic items - only one of each except for the common list? Not sure how this could apply to runes, though.
Some kind of objective or pretty much kill em all?

I can have either 3K in Dwarfs or 2250 in ogres you pick. Also when will this be?

Not for a while - still in the planning stages.
You bring up a good point though - some peeps have armies for both sides. Maybe play one side and loan the other to someone who might want to play but doesnt have an army in the "theme"?

You cant play a big game like this in the evening and expect to get home before sunrise! I can probably swing this unless I am out of town for xmas... I'll try to get clearance from the tower... |

True, but the wrap up time might cause problems for those of us in the league.
I have to check with the wife, but I might be able to be in with my few goblins ready to go. Not worried about my wrap up time. Shouldn't take too long for my gobbos to die horribly.

Bright & early Monday, Feb 18th it is!
Gathering up the rules we discussed:
* If you bring 5000pts painted, you get to bring a special character
* Bring O&G or dwarfs painted/unpainted, 4 hero choices
* DoW as appropriate (Ruglud, Ooglah Khan, Long Drong, Malakai's hewer)
* no duplicate magic items between sides - schoolyard pick?

Due to magic banners and other things Jason suggested a limit on Magic items and I think this is appropriate. So how about 150pts per player not counting the things the special character brings.
