As you guys have probably heard me say more times then either of us care to remember, the big drive for me in the Warhammer 40k world we live in is the painting. Yeah, the game is fun and beating the snot out of each other is a laugh, but when it comes down to it, you'll find me huddled behind my desk with some brushes and a mini.
That being said, even the most enthusiastic painter can find only so many ways to stay motivated about painting the 100th + Ultramarine (105th to be precise). They're by far my favorite army to paint and I love them dearly, but enough is enough. Sometimes one needs a break, and that's where you guys come in.
I can just grab some random models and paint them up in whatever color scheme grabs my fancy, but then I have a bunch of models laying around with nothing to do. So I started doing paint jobs for some of the less, shall we say, enthusiastic painters. I can say that this is some of the most fun I've ever had as a painter and it's given me a chance to try some stuff I never would have considered before.
I have already worked with Kyle and C4. What I would like to do is start a small gallery here and eventually have a pic of a model I did for each and every one of Da Boyz.
Except for you Ron. Screw you. ;D

James I was hoping you were there last night....
Your mission if you choose to accept it:
For this I will certainly pay an agreed up amount. I would like to have a chapter Banner painted. I suck at freehand, I would like to employ your services. Pleas let me know if you would like to do this. I am going to buy a command squad and you can paint the chapter banner guy.
This message will self destruct in 5 years(sorta like our other board) :-)

Paint 1 of banned-james's models. Then he will have something good in his "Blues Clues" army. And yes I do have good models in my army. Ron said my furies looked nice!

Ok Brian, I said your furies are -your- best painted models. Dont confuse that with a nice painted model.

DIDN'T WANT TO START A NEW THREAD, ONE QUESTION "BECAUSE I CAN". I HAVE A CHAOS KHORNE ARMY AND I REALLY DO NOT WANT IT PAINTED RED, IF I PAINT IT A COLOR OF MY CHOOSING WILL IT BE A PROBLEM IN A G.T. TYPE TOURNAMENT. THANKS, HAVE A NICE DAY, CIAO!

I can't imagine it would be a real issue as long as all the models are what they should be and you're not changing much other then the color.
For example i've seen the Cerulean Templars (black templars painted blue and white instead of black and white) and it was quite obvious what they were.
So blue khorne or black or wtvr shouldnt be an issue.
Hell, my slaaneshi's are purple and black instead of pink

I can only agree with Mike to a point. Part of the fun of 40K is painting, as James said when he started this thread. Creativity is involved too as well as imagination, but fluff wise certain armies were set up with certain color schemes. Ultramarines are blue, not red, not green, but blue. Space wolves are grey, and so on. If you want to make your army a different color it is up to you. You can play it at any store and have a great time with it. But now you introduce the GT element to it and ask "Is it OK?'. Yes it is OK, but you also may pay a price for your divergence from the norm. GT players as well as judges do strange things, and dinging you in points for having a Khorne army that is not red would not be out of the rhelm of possibilities, maybe better stated I could see it being a real probability. That does not mean your army is not good however you choose to play or paint them, but fluff wise it is not what a Khorne army should look like. Personally, I would not see a problem with it and would not let it affect scoring, but I also can see where many players would. In Toronto last year I was dinged for army comp due to talking two ven dreads in my Iron Hands army. Why, good question, I played my fluff and did not have a tooled out army but apparently some players did not appreciate me playing my fluff. Some players might not appreciate a "non-standard" Khorne army either, but then again who really gives a rat's ass anyhow? Play for fun, win some, lose some, unless you plan on having your 40K record inscribed on your tombstone it all doesn't matter in the long run.

I would like to point out that there are a number of players, even in GTs, who use the "counts as" idea to painting. You can paint your army any way you want. You bought, so it's yours to do with. The paint will not affect the rules you use. I played my marines using the BA rules for years, and they most definately are not red. The people Doug is talking about will always find something to ding you for. It's in their nature. It's how they try to get ahead because they have lost sight of the fact that this is a GAME.
