I can't tell you how excited I am that the necron book is nearly here as the last "newest" codex I am playing with is Chaos.
I took my crons out a couple of weeks ago for a game against my son's dark eldar and he just ran circles around me...
New vehicle looks cool, can't wait to see the rest.

I'm going to dust off my necrons now. I have like 2 monoliths, 40 warriors, and 12 destroyers that I've barely touched Should make a nice core for a new necron army.

Get your scarabs while they're hot. Entropic strike will be the new hotness.

There's even more coverage of new units.

I've never really been one to "hop on the band wagon" of a new army coming out...but this army looks SICK!

A lot of buzz out there right now. Some people are complaining (of course) about the look, feel, fluff, or whatever. I embrace the change and added flavor to the army. I'm more than ready for the internet to lose interest in Grey Knights also.
Those guns on the support barge and doomsday ark are the biggest I've seen outside of IG. Can't wait to see what they can do.

Haters are going to hate... I like it when GW gives a face lift to the various armies in both 40k and fantasy. Who wants to see the same armies over and over with just a different paint scheme? (i'm looking at you marine players) That's why I only play xeno's and chaos. About the only new model I don't care for is the razorback pig from the beasts of chaos book but I will admit I've yet to see it in person. The dark elder release, tomb kings, ogre kingdoms and even the dreadfleet models are great additions to their respective universes. (btw, dreadfleet is a pretty fun game. If anyone wants a demo I can bring it to mg one night once we are past the gt)

I've never had a problem with GW doing a facelift on an army as long as the change is not so severe that older models look "wrong" beside it.
A good example would be the old vs new terminators. The newer terminators look amazing, but they are not so different that they can't work alongside older. It's only a mild size issue, and most good modelers can adjust for that.
So far, the new releases for Necrons seem to be following that thread. The new immortals and flayed ones look real good, but are not so different from the old ones as to annoy anyone who already owns some.
I suppose I need to get to work on my necrons so I can have what I own mostly painted before the new stuff comes out. I suppose it would help if I could finally settle on a paint scheme.

Necrons were my first army. I love them and still play them today even in their current state. I am on the fence about some of the new models. Not sure on the vehicles but the troops and HQ models seems pretty nice. I think I preferred the older metal Flayed ones instead of the new ones. I do miss the green rods, not sure why they did away with those.
