I ordered the TS dreadnought, lascannon arm and Chainfist arm. After looking at the chainfist arm I am not sure I like it all that much. I was thinking about converting DCCW arm into something... My thoughts were:
Holding Egyptian Staff? Holding an Ankh? Leaving the chainfist arm?
Anyone have any other ideas or ideas on how to create the first two I menioned?

I looked at the forgeworld chainfist and I think it looks pretty cool. I'm assuming you're using the left sided fist as the lascannon is a right sided weapon.
I see a lot of flat surfaces on the chainfist, and I think with a little bit of converting you could properly egyptify it. I think you're onto something with the ankh, maybe you could put one on the arm itself with some greenstuff or plasticard. I imagine that this is one of the easiest things to sculpt, as it's just a cross with a loop at the top.
The other option of course would be to freehand the ankh directly onto the chainfist, but I don't know how keen you are on doing that.
The idea of having the dreadnought holding an item like a staff or symbol might be cool too. I imagine you could find a suitably badass looking egyptian staff from the tombkings army in warhammer fantasy. Take a look at the lich priests, casket of souls, and even the bone giant. My only thought is that it would have to be a really burly staff if the dready is going to hold it in his hand.
What I thought would be cool would be to take the imperial space marine dreadnought ccw, give it a talon-esque extension for the "fingers". Slap on a couple chaos icons or even the ankh and you've got a really cool unique chaos arm. The best part is if you model the talons at the right curve, they could curl around and create a cradle for the staff.
If you want some freehanded ankhs, lemme know.

Why not just use the Lord of Change Staff it should be big enough.
I like the Idea of the Space Marine Dready PF. I would use Bjorn the fell handed's claw. With a little bit of filling or drumel use you could probably get the staff free of Big Birds arm. All you might have to do is reshape the claw. I might have to give that a try as well. I would use earth magnets on the arms, that way you can get the dready up and running with the forgeworld arm and when the conversions done you can switch'em out.

The only thing really holding me back from using the LoC staff is teh fact that I am probably going to usethe LoC in my army. 2 big staves like that might look goofy if they were the same.
I like the magnets idea. I will see how Shaun did his and copy that.

I'd say wait a couple weeks and trade the chainfist arm for the cool new ven. dreadnought arm with actual 'hand' style grabby bits and throw the staff of your choice on it. if no one else will trade, i would.
