Nice try but it looks like this army was actually used in a tourney? I would have to kick someone in the junk for trying that, yeah is creative but not very well painted! I might relax the rules a bit if you could prove they were GW Legos.

I could see that for those of us poor boys who want to learn the game before dumping a lot of cash, but at a tourney?

I would totally love to see someone bring that to a tourney, it's creative, it's fun and it's totally in the spirit of the Game.
Its blatently obvious what each unit is supposed to be and with an army like Necrons that get no upgrades, every guy is excactly what you expect him to be.
I would have to ding his painting of course, but I would give a couple bonus points for Creativity, especially if he had lego display board to go with it.
Hilarious and fun, right on target.

Remember that WYSIWYG post above somewhere....This is a prime example of what NOT to do. None of them are GW models.
Funny, Creative..yes
used in tournement, expecting to get good scored...Not so much.
Some tournements may not allow that to be played. I know I wouldnt.

I wouldn't enjoy playing against that nearly as much as a well painted necron army. mostly because i'd know he paid like next to nothing for his army compared to what I paid. which would just irritate me.

Nope, I'm defending my opinion.
I think this would be great to take to a one-off tourney. One that specifically mentions that GW models are not required, such as the Marauder GT or any of the other Indy GT events.
I'd be annoyed at the guy that brought this every week though.

Remember that WYSIWYG post above somewhere....This is a prime example of what NOT to do. None of them are GW models. This is exactly why it IS cool. Anyone playing non-GW stuff gets an A-OK in my book. Now, there really isnt a whole lot of options for other brands in 40K, but there is a whole world of redonkulously cool minis out there, and usually cost 50-75% less money than GW's "here, let me gouge you again" prices.... That said, I'm not a fan of this army other than the monolith - which blows away GWs lunchpail.

OK I would make an exception IF every time I kill a model I could rip it apart and make something cool out of it. Then and only then would I allow such shinanigans. Yep, it is cool and creative but not really tourney material. Let me remind you that if you thought Hello Kitty was bad, here is another gem from the past... bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=99026&st=0&gopid=1138165entry1138165

Especially the monolith, if you can kill the thing. I volunteer James to give you a roundhouse for the pink sissy army though. What a disgrace to the Astartes! (Not that there's anything wrong with that)
