hey guys do you have any tips for how to tactically defeat high elves with dark elves? also do the high elves get immune to psychology or just immune to panic when facing dark elves?

What??? And spill all my secrets? Kidding of course. To start out, you are at a disadvantage already, the DE book is really tired compared to *all* the other armies and the new HE book is the latest in the power creep. That said... Things that will help: 1. Play better. Not meant as an insult, but identify which threats will wreck you and neutralize/remove them before they wreck you. Play to exploit flanks on opponents units where HE will for the most part not have as many first strike attacks, not to mention be able to count ranks. 2. Magic missiles. Most armies can let these go, but vs "elite" armies like HE each one has potential to seriously hurt. 3. Regular shooting. Toughness 3 and relatively light armor on HE means even a medium amount of shooting (20-30 shots) can hurt. 4. Chariots. Cold one chariots are pretty tough for HE to handle. T5, a decent charge range, and impact hits (happen before before strike first). 5. Cavalry. Cold one knights armor save should keep them alive vs most of the relatively low strength attacks HE have. Beware of white lions though. they will f$%^ cold one knights up! High elves reroll psychology tests vs dark elves now. There you go. Thats what I'd see as your best options. Theres a few things that you might find helpful like harpies to drop behind units that you may break and then flee, shades to slow down marching and to shoot while you do that, black dragon to fight fire with fire....

should i forgo executioners then? they have great weapons so ASF doesn't matter but is their impact going to be worth it? 150pts though with a musician and champion in a 12 man unit. What about warhawks and my cauldron, how would i protect against these, with magic missiles also?
thanks!

Sadly, executioners vs high elves are a complete waste unless you can somehow get a flank charge on something that has little to no ranks. Swinging last and only a 5+ save even against lowly spearelves means you wont be getting the attacks back to make any difference. I think you have better options here but a small "throw away" unit of them might have merit. I assume you meant great eagles (not warhawks), Shooting and magic is the most effective way to remove these. This falls under "play better" , identify your biggest threats. Another sneaky thought - If you are placing terrain, place the cauldron in a forest - flyers cannot fly into woods and must stop before them then use ground movement next turn to charge.

thanks for the great help! i had another question too, are there any particularly nasty magic item combos the high elves might have against MSU style dark elf play? should i worry about the dragon mage?

HE cant combo magic items too well anymore - the points really dont work out in their favor.
As far as dragon mages - the biggest thing to worry about here is the dragon! He is still a flying rank breaker if/when the mage dies.
