Hey all it's my first post here in the Rochester boards. I am from Cuse and have been playing for many years but never attended any tournies bigger than the ones GW held before it closed. I plan on making it out for the GT at the end of March and I guess I have a few questions need some help.
I am going to be bringing an OK army. Without totally nerfing the army the best comp score I am getting is 15. I don't know if this is a good comp score or not but I would imagine it's not and since comp scores will determine pairings I would like it to be comp friendly. I hesitate to post my list for odvious reasons but it's a pretty standard list. So I guess that's my question. Is 15 a good comp score or should I really sacrifice and get it better? Is this just the price I pay for playing OK? As my army stands now I see it being softer than most lists I would consider comp friendly (based solely on my opinion).
I am geting dinged for the following rules... 1. less than 25% chars 2. less than 15% chars 3. No lord 4. less than 8 casting or 5 dispell dice 5. less than 5% magic items 6. At least 3 core units at 2x min size 7. Less than 4 units which can strike at s5 or less off the charge excluding chars and champs 8. less than 3 units smaller than 1.5 min size not counting units witout options for more models 9. no duplicates of special or rares 10. at least 50% core
Well thanks for any feedback I appreciate it and look forward to meeting people when I get out there.

never mind. I got my answer from a different thread. I guess it is the price to pay for OK.

Kevin,
It looks like you are getting what will be low average score. It should not be that big a deal. Comp is so few points That I think many people will be bringing what they want so come on down and have fun.

Yeah I am getting that picture. I know comp isn't much of the total score but if pairings are based on it then it could make for some lop sided pairings resulting in low chances of doing well. I understand that comp is a pretty hard thing to dial in. I was just concerened when I found I really can't get better than 10 pts off perfect comp with the list. Regardless of any of that it's always fun to roll the dice, win loose or draw.
I look forward to playing new people, learning a thing or two and all the other nuiesances that come with a large non-local tourney. I was at simcon about 3-4 years ago with LM but this seems to have grown.
My gnoblar, I mean Ogre, will be there to smash, pillage and drill.
