I would like to thank everyone for the added help with this but this is what we are going to use. I would like to still work on tweaking this after simcon and get your input during the tournament. Everyone should remember that this is just going to be one small score in the tournament. So play what you like Battle is still the most important phase but this is to reward those who take a weaker list. At the tournament battle will be 60, comp will be doubled, painting will be 30pts, and sportsmanship 30. I am also leaning towards a 10 pt quiz.
start with 10pts
+2 if playing Ogres, Dwarf, Beastmen,, Orc and Goblin, Chaos Dwarf,
+1 if playing Tomb King, Bretonian, Skavan, Wood Elf, empire or High elf, chaos Warriors
-1 for each character after the first 2 with assassins and any named champions counting as characters.
-1 for special character Hero
-2 for special character Lord
-1 for each unit allowed a standard without one after the first
-1 for each flying unit\monster which could be of US 5 or greater
-1 for each magic banner
-1 for each power dice over 8 or dispel dice over 5 which ever is greater
-1 for each model which causes terror
-1 for every 30 shooting strength over 60
-1 for every elite unit without a non elite unit of similar type which is at lest as large
-1 for every required core unit not 2 times minimum size
-1 for each duplicte magic item, special unit or rare unit
Shooting strength is the calculated by multiplying the strength of a missile by the number of users of that weapon by the number of shots for each unit and then adding up the totals for all the units. For example an Empire army with 9 archers, 10 handgunners, and 6
pistoliers would have a strength of 9x3
(archers)+10x4(handgunners)+6x4x2(pistoliers) or 115
For warmachines a canon counts as the strength of the cannon, anything that fires like a stone thrower counts as the strength of the shot times the inches of the template. Anything that uses a flame template that rolls for distances counts as strength of the shot times 3, if it places the template then it is strength times 5. Things that roll random number of shots always assume 5 was rolled for the number of shots and then muliply this by the strength of the shots.
Bound items are ignored if one use only, and treated as 1 dice if power level (pl) 4 or less, 2 if pl is 5-7 and 3 if pl is 8+. Tomb kings count a high liche priest as 4 dice, a tomb king as 3, a liche priest as 2 and a tomb prince as 1. any intem that stores dice, creates dice or stells dice counts as the number of dice it adds to the total, and all random dice generators count as the average number.
For all questions only take the penalty if you have the full additional points.
For elite units all units are classed as ranked infantry, fighting skirmishers, fast cavalry, heavy cavalry, and missile troops. A unit is elite if there is a unit in the same army of the same type, with the same creature type, that has inferior stats or fewer abilities. For example, Bigens are elite, longbeards are elite, but so are black guard, slayers, and dragon princes.
Required core units are only 3 for a 2000pt aremy and 2 for a a 1-1999pt army. So the other units can be any size.
Vampire count flying units which could become larger due to invocation and summons creatures of the night also count here regardless of their starting size.
Take an additional -1 for each of the following items:
Battle banner
rune of forging
master rune of Stromni Redbeard
crimson gem of Lahmia
Helm of commandment
Drakenhof banner
Banner of endless nightmare
forbidden lore
red fury
Van Horseman's Speculum
Griffon Standard
annoyance of nettlings
Armor of Eternal Servitude
Pendant of Khaeleth
Ring of Hotek
Sacrificial dagger
Banner of Nagarythe
staff of darkoth
Icon of Rakaph
Destroyer of Eternities
Siren's song
Banner of unholy victory
word of agony
Black tongue
stegadon warspear
Well good luck to all
