What will be people in Rochester be willing to pay for a GT.
Is $50 to much?
What about $40 if you sign up early.
No money from the GT will be pocketed. It will have an open book in case anyone wanted to see where the money is being spent.
The all money will be used for running the GT and prizes.

last GT was $25 or $30, wasnt it?
I wouldn't be willing to spend more than $30. I go mostly for fun, and if there is more money than that involved it will be alot less about the game, and alot more about winning.
and does beating norton at last year's GT qualify me to get free-er admission than him?

Free Admission went to The Best Opponenet last 2 years ago (me). I would assume it would go to the same winner last year. Jay I would say what is the cost of the place we are playing vs the prize amount we want. Also will GW give us prize support? Personally I would like to se a large prize selection and many prizes. If $50 will allow us to have that then im fine paying $50.

Im willing to pay 50 bucks as long as there are more than a few NON-ROCHESTER opponents there. I will not pay 50 bucks to play peeps i play every sunday.
I kinda of regretted paying the 15 bucks for SimCon for the same reason.
If that makes me cheap, then so be it.

Let me throw some numbers around.
$400 for Hall $300 for misc things like tables, paper, and thinks to run the GT. I did think about getting poker chips with DaBoyz name on them for objective markers, but what would that cost? Maybe $100 to $200.
I don’t know where I would spend money on anything else besides prizes. If I am missing something let me hear it.
So maybe at the most it will cost $1,000 (that is off course the hall only cost $400).
If we go with $30 per head. $30 would be the pre-reg so we can get people to sign up early. The day of the evernt I would charge more.
At $30 per head for 50 people you would receive $1,500. That would leave $500 for prizes. I would also ask for prize support from GW.
These are just approximate numbers, but I think it is realistic to get upwards of $500 plus in prizes.

For what it's worth I'm out at Albany and I would pay 40-50 bucks for a GT in Roc. Get out to my old stomping grounds. . .

how about $30/35 for pre-reg. and $45 at the door?
that would encourage the pre-registration and keep paperwork simpler right? if anyone has issues with paying more, they just register early.
i'm ok with $35/40, but $50 is a little steep.

DaBOYZGT 08 was $25 $30 would be a 20% increase in the price. (This during a recession where people have LESS disposable money) $30 is also on the high side to get your more casual coming for the fun gamers as opposed to only the hard core tournament players.
$50 that would be a full 100% raise to the price. Holy cow wow oh wow what are we doing to make this twice the value as last time! (Once again while in a recession)
Jay other than the hall, tables and paper what are "things to run the GT". because all me and Doug used other than those was a lap top. (Mind you we also got some free printing on our tourney missions and score sheets so i accept that may cost some.)

One, I think we make sure you can cover the cost of the Hall and other equipment required to play. Two what kind of prize support are people looking for out of this cost? Just trophies or GW stuff and or both? I have no problem paying 30-40 bucks for a well run 2 day tourney, I mean I've paid $80 for a GW 2 day GT that only gave out trophies. I mean we are calling this a GT not some RTT right?

30 TO 40 DOLLARS IS REASONABLE!
MOST PARENTS WILL GO FOR THIS, US LOOKING FOR WORK CAN STILL SWING IT AND WHEN ALL THE EXTRA COST FOR TRAVELING TO ROCHESTER ARE ADDED IN, WE HAVEN'T ALIENATED ANYONE.
I RECOMMENDED BEING MORE CREATIVE IN BRING IN EXTRA MONEY. FOR EXAMPLE:
PUT SOME SOFT DRINKS ON ICE AND CHARGE A COUPLE OF BUCKS.
BUILD / MODEL AND AUCTION SOME LANDSCAPING, SPECIAL CHARACTERS OR SOME WELL SOUGHT AFTER MODELS.
BAKED GOODS ALWAYS BRING IN MONEY, LOOK AT THE SIZE OF YOU GUYS! CAAAAAAAAAAACHIIIIIIIING!
BE CREATIVE, I GOTTA HIT THE ROAD!
