warhammer.org.uk/PhP/viewtopic.php?t=15613This is a link on the warhammer forum discussing the problems with the recent Colonial GT. Sounds like there are more concerns with comp/scenario's than there was the previous year. As such, we ought to review these "problem issues" before finalizing our plans for our GT. Just a thought.

I read the forum and it seems that they are complaining about all the same things that most of us usually dislike. If my opinion counts I think we should..
1) Post CLEAR rules on comp and scoring before the tourney. Again, make it clear that we are looking for balanced armies for max comp scores rather than beatsticks, and inform that penalties for uber unfair armies will be assessed accordingly.
2) Having a scoring system based around 2 as the mean score. Any scores above or below will require an explanation. Make in clear that we do not expect to see straight 3 or zeroes and we will investigate such abuses.
3) Throw out the highest and lowest scores in each category then average the remaining ones? Would this help?
4) Design our website for the tourney so that army list can be submitted by email and snail mail so that a proper review can be accomplished before the day of the tourney.
5) As for painting, make it known we have a few GT winners who will be judging. These people know the difference between good and great painting.
6) It has been talked about to design special mission. One of the biggest complaints on the link was that some missions hosed armies or tried to correct broken lists. If we do this we need to keep in mind fairness to everyone should be the driving force in our design of these missions.
