Thanks for the update on this event. Looked like it was fun.
As for taking Shaun, Jay and the Hobins abroad next season, I would highly advise against it. Our current Secretary of State lacks the negotiating savvy that would be needed to explain away the actions of DaBoyz once some of the good German beer starts flowing through their veins. I can imagine an international incident arising...

I'd be interested tentatively, be fun especially the drinkin part ;D Some of rules are interesting; www.wh-etc.com/en/wh40k/rules8 person team, 1 army per codex, no WH, DH, DW, or kroot allies

Yeah the rules are very interesting. Some things I took away from my first read-through:
This is a straight gaming tournament, there is no sportsmanship or comp or painting score. However they apparently have a yellow card, red card system similar to soccer to prevent douschebaggery. Evidently they actually use it, 3 teams got yellow cards and the italians even had their score reduced because of suspicion of cheating.
There is a lot of strategy in deciding who plays what army, since you can only have one of each codex, and in pairing your guys against the opposition each match. Basically for every game, one captain gets to pick the army matchup, and the other gets to pick the table.

Interesting that they banned;
-Ghazghkull Thraka -Eldrad Ulthran -Forgefather Vulkan He'stan -Shadow Captain Kayvaan Shrike -Kor'sarro Khan -Fateweaver, Oracle of Tzeentch -The Masque
Looks like they are trying to focus on generalmanship vs. HQ power builds

They say somewhere they were worried that if they didn't ban those characters, every army would choose their respective special character, and they wanted variation between countries.
Not sure I agree with that, but their heart is in the right place. They are clearly trying for a pure generalship contest. That's my kind of tournament.
