ok. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SPECIAL CHARACTORS?!?!? IM GONNA TAKE MY 360 POINT NIGHTBRINGER THAT CAN BE TAKEN OUT BY A SCOUT BECAUSE A SCOUT W/ A SNIPER CAN HIT ON 2+ WOUND ON 4+ AND FOR SOMEONE WHO MOVE SIX INCHES AND THE SNIPERS HAVE 36 INCH RANGE, ILL GIVE IT 3 TURNS MAX. THIS IS LEAVING OUT LAS CANNONS AND THE OTHER HIGH POWER GUNS.

Brian, there is always the option of not going. Im a big supporter of that. If you dont like they way people run thier tournaments, dont go. Maybe they just might change how they run them.

Brian, when trying to type in caps, it helps not to press the shift key at the start of your response. I think the no SC rule is a throwback to the old RTs when SCs were restricted there too. The den is a little backwards about some things. Still a fun tourney.

BRIAN OR ANYONE ELSE, IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE, DISCUSS IT AT THE TOURNEY. I DON'T SEE ANYONE RUNNING AROUND WITH A SHERIFF BADGE OR STAY HOME AND PLAY WITH YOUR 900 point CHARACTER, POSSIBLY A POLITICAL STATEMENT THAT COULD CHANGE THE WHOLE WORLD, "NOT".
CHANGES ARE MADE ALL THE TIME, BOBBY, PATRICK AND THE REGULARS ARE OPEN MINDED, JUST BRING IT UP FOR DISCUSSION, SOME TIMES WE VOTE AND USE MAJORITY RULES.
OR YOU CAN JUST WINE, A VARY POPULAR ACTIVITY AT THIS WEBSITE AND TOTALLY JUSTIFIED SINCE REALITY ISN'T A FACTOR.
HAVE A NICE DAY AND THANKS FOR THE POSTING, HOPE TO SEE YOU SUNDAY,CIAO! ;D ;D ;D ;D- ;D ;D ;D- ;D ;D ;D

ah yes the ever famous dice rolling box, what a joke that is. Hmmm, let me roll in this box over here way out of the way where you cant see what I roll....oh and btw I blew up that land raider with a pen 6 and a 6 inche explosion. Problem there, that would require said person to show up at the tournement. And Dragon where do you come up with these ideas? They are so way out there in left field and come out of no where:

OK, time out!! Everyone here needs to calm the hell down. Here is the definitive word on the subject, call Moses and have him scribe it in stone tablets. ( In other words, here is my opinion.)
1) The special character ban is stupid. Brian's post was trying to point out the absurdity regarding the ban, and I think he did a good job highlighting his point. I have voiced my opinion to Bobby reagrding this matter as well. We agreed that with a few exceptions (Tygerius), that special characters are reasonable priced and do nto posess gamebreaking qualities. The big problem was that all the Den players are so unfamiliar with special characters that it might bog down play. After all the standard Dragon challenge goes like this.. " Puff, Puff, I will take on all comers, play whatever you like, I will be victorius, but please leave your special characters at home, they scare me! " Special characters ARE FLUFFY but require players to think outside of the box, some thing that the Den seems slow to do.
2) The box, yes the dice roling box! This is a joke. We have had several controversies involving the box and it should be eliminated. I understand the need to protect the terrain, but if you really think dice rolling is wearing out your precious terrain, you need to get a gripe. Hang on, it's my phone, oh it's reality calling, they want to speak with you...
3) Gabe, you are right, if you don't like the rules, you can stay at home. I give you full credit for that answer, but I never said I didn't like the rules, neither did Brian, we just said that there are things that could be done better. Both me and my son enjoy playing in the tourneys there, and suggesting things that could be done better should in no way be taken for us saying we don't enjoy playing there. I have tried to make the tourneys there when my schedule permits, and have no plans to stop attending. The Den does a good job running this event, but small tweeks in nearly any event can help to maximize the enjoyment for everyone.
4) Regarding whining on the board, hell, it is my God given right to voice my opinion as well as everyone else here to do the same. If you think it's whining, that's your call, but last I checked the Constitution was still in affect and granted every US citizen the right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. As for all you wetbacks and towelheads, go the f___ home, you were not invited to our party, and take anyone who doesn't agree with these rights along with you!
In the words of Porky Pig "..that's all folks!!!"

WHAT ARE GUYS TALKING ABOUT, I DON'T EVEN SEE ANY ISSUE HERE OTHER THAN "JOE TROLL COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE BRIDGE", (THE USUAL NEGATIVE CRAP). GROW UP, PLAY OR NOT, I DON'T GIVE A _______. I JUST POSED THIS FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, SORRY MY MISTAKE. I THOUGHT YOU WERE GAMERS, THIS MUST BE THE WRONG WEBSITE, COULD THIS BE THE WEBSITE OF "THE GIRLIE MEN TRAVELING FREAK SHOW", TROLL AND ALL? ;D ;D ;D HAVE A NICE DAY, CIAO? P.S. I HAVE A 20 MINUTE TIME LIMIT PER WEEK ON THIS WEBSITE. MAY ZEN BE WITH YOU!

Chalk up one more controversy to the almighty dice rolling box Oh.. and don't call Moses and have him scribe it in stone tablets. We all know he'll just drop it and we'll only have half of them left when he gets done with them.

Doug, if you are going to quote me, at least quote ME. What you just attributed to me was not said by me. All I said was that the SC rule was a throwback to the old RTs. I happen to agree that the SC rule should disapear, and I also happen to agree that the den tourneies are fun despite this rule. Not once did I say something about staying home, for or against.

dice box is dumb. plainly. it invites cheating and there is no reasonable neccessity for it, unless you have lead dice like Evil.
the special character ban is all well and good with one notable exception; more than half the characters do not require opponents consent.
Back in the old RTT days, all of them did and it was 100% easier to diallow them. but now the burly factor of characters has waned and half of them are legal regardless of how your opponent feels.
what's the problem?

BTW, there is an RTT in syracuse on the 24'th which I am planning to attend, so this may be a better option for everyone.

Didnt mean to misquote you Gabe. I like playing you and that tourney seems to work well for both our schedules. As for you Dave, I did see where GW in Syracusehas a tourney saturday at noon, but unfortunately that conflicts with my plans. Good luck if you go, hopefully I will see you in Rochester sometime soon.
