Is that 3 people per side per table? So each table would hold 6 players?
Do we know how many points we are shooting for for this game?

I guess I am the person The tables sound cool
We will have tables to set the terrain on. Know that we know the tables we will layout them out in a plan and send it to you.
We will have armies (included forgeworld stuff) that people that can borrow.
For people that want to play in this, there is going to only be three tables. It looks like a max of numbers o player is going to 12 to 18.

Do we know how many points we are shooting for for this game? "three teammates per side, 3k each, for a total of 9k per side" That would be 18k per table. The Sand Sea table can easily be expanded from 12' to 18+ feet by extending the play surface, and I will bring an extra tub of appropriate terrain should more cover be requested. If my Manta is completed by then, I'll add that as a "terrain feature". I have have high-point Tau, Guard and Tyranid units that I can bring as well.

That might all depend on how many want to play a higher point game... Note: - Tarokeen is a flexable play surface and can be 8' wide for a deeper playfield. As can the Sand Sea. - The Ash-World City is designed to be 6' wide.

The table is looking great so far. 6 feet wide and 18 feet long?
9000 points per side is going to look pretty sparce on a table that large, IMO. Do we want to get a sign up sheet going so we can see what armies people will be bringing and what points people can play up to?
Will the tables be setup for teams? Like Chaos and Xenos against Imperials? Maybe a Tau players could play on the Imperial teams? Or will it be random? Just want to get more information.

Also for the big games, are their any Stratagems that players should not use?
How will deployment be done? Will players have to use the bidding system? or will players roll off to see which side deploys first?
Do we have a specific game time? Will we be setting a turn length? That might effect what armies or models players bring. Or will the game just last until a certain time?
How will awards be handed out? Raffle style? Based on painting or maybe people favorite model or army? Based on points killed?
These are things that will effect what players bring to the table. If the game is based on a certain time length players will bring just a few models so they can be sure to get all their turns. If awards are based on kill points then players might bring their super triple turbo laser models so that can clean house. Making the game less fun. If the Awards are based on painting or army style, players might instead bring their fluffy armies and nice painted models, which makes for a nice looking game.
Depending on the armies that are brought, would this be a themed game? Would it follow a famous battle from 40k fluff? or is it just bring 3000 points and pick a table?
I love playing apocalypse, so this is the one event at the GT I would like to play in.

How will awards be handed out? Raffle style? Based on painting or maybe people favorite model or army? Based on points killed? The awards will not be base on kill point or painting. They are going to be given out for fun and epic events so that everyone has a chance at something. For example a guardian that shoot down a flier with a missile launcher, or a warlock takes last structure point of a bainblade which sets of a chain reaction blowing up 2 more bainblades, or the lone terminator that takes down a warhound and nukes the area, just crazy epic things. The awards are going to be handed out by the judges and this part of the event is purely for fun, there should be no winners or loser, so no awards for based on winning or losing.

Thanks for the questions; we are still working out the details. Before the Binghamton guys (Trooperpx) got we got more involved we discussed as group we would not give out prizes for winning. I would rather give out something for painting or getting your titan blown up because your opponent roles three six’s in a row. We agreed APOC should be for fun, so we will not giving out prizes for killing the most or winning. I would not rather list what we are giving out prizes for, but rather at the end of the day give them out.

All models must be WYSIWYG, no proxies. Several-hundred painted models on a table is just spectacular. I'm doing everything I can to ensure the tables are finished. I want you to play on a "finished" table. So painted models are a must. We're still three months out so that's some good time to work on your minis. I don't need compettitive-quality, just make the effort. ;D A model with a basecoat and some details picked out in a different color will "look" painted from a distance... Start by getting something on everyone/everything, then go back as time permits to get the next level of detail on. If everything comes together, we'll get jaw-dropping looks from spectators - convert a few to the hobby at the same time. No awards pre-announced. This is for fun. We'll know where an award needs to go when we see it. I'd love to see a theme surface as people sign up and chat amongst themselves. When we playtested Taros, I put down 17k of Tau and had three co-commanders to assist. Since we didn't have what you "should" have in the fluff, we just had a mass of "Imperial" forces on the other side - a mix of Guard and Marines. Tau held the city and the Imperium had to take it back. So if we can get a Tau versus Imperium on the Tarokeen table that would just be cool. But I don't know who's out there, and don't want to choak off a table. In all likelyhood, deployment zones on the Tarokeen table would be in relation to the Govenor's Palace, with no-man's land being the area just outside the walls. This makes deepstriking important for both sides, to get into the city, and to neutralize something hiding outside. The Ash-World City will be a diagonal cut, adjusted so it dosen't nerf someone in a small corner. Same for the Sand Sea. I'm thinking a 2d6 roll-off for deployment. Each side gets a few minutes to chat, then 30min for set-up. We'll figure out a fair turn time based on the final signup and final points limits. There a few Strategems that just aren't fun. We'll be discussing those in the future to see how we're going to handle it. Is there a specific one someone wants a ruling on, or one they'd rather not see used??
