Greetings Brothers,
I am thinking of starting a Dwarf army and have access to around 150-300 Dwarves, all from the Battle for Skull Pass set. It includes maybe around half a dozen to one dozen cannons as well. So, I made a pledge to learn to use the Dwarf army in the next few months. I have read the book (at least a dozen times over along with the previous edition book) and have read all the posts about Dwarves on this forum section. Here is a list I was thinking of using. If anyone who plays Dwarves has advice to give to me, then I would be most grateful. Also, I do not know Brother Boldo's comp system off the top of my head, so this would be adjusted before the tourney.
I will make another post right after this for the army list.

Looks like a pretty solid list to me. However there are somethings I would change you spent quite a bit on characters and there are plenty of ways to cut back such as your runes of sanctuary on your lord as well as longbeards. The rune of resistance on the thane and althought the MRo Balance the Rune of spellbreaking are both good I would take one or the other. Another thing is that I think 3 engineers is overkill and you probably need none or one. Finally I think that you have to many upgraded core units (i.e. longbeards and rangers) and not enought warriors.

Thank you for the help, Dwarfpower. I think that actually a person can always have one more longbeard unit then warrior unit......if that person has a Dwarf Lord. i realized there are some inaccuracies due to the same combo being used a couple times, I screwed that up. Thank you for the help. I should reprint the list.
It is funny, all I have is some battle for skull pass dwarves. I thought it would be nice to take them to a tournament because I got them for free, so I should also learn how to play them. Do you like playing Dwarves then, Dwarfpower?

I kept the engineers so that the war machines will not explode a lot and I kept some of the other things because I wanted the army to be defensive. The engineers are pricey though and I am not so sure about them.
Ps.....how does a Dwarf army work if they are played to attack the enemy and march across the board? does that work?

I personally love playing dwarfs as does boldo who is way more experienced so you should talk to him to get some ideas. But a dwarf army is a little slow for your proposed strategy. Many players sit back and shoot until the opposing army gets to them then they protect their warmachines with their troop blocks. However there are more offensive dwarf strategies.
