Greetings,
I was curious if anyone actually finds Warhammer Players Society Composition charts to be usefull at all. I find Boldos charts to be far more useful. That, and the Warhammer Players Societies charts seem complicated to me. How does everyone here feel about them? Have any grand tournaments (unofficial ones) used the Warhammer Players Society composition charts before? Just curious.

I'm a big fan of the WPS system and find it to be pretty accurate...It's pretty simple once you start using it (It just looks intimdating). Granted, I'm good with manipulating numbers, etc...
I know a tourney out in Ohio used it (supposedly) and one in Minnesota did.
I've been thinking of trying to talk Boldo into letting me run a tourney and using the WPS system to balance individual battles.

Well, I think most comp systems are a joke, and this one is no exception.
For all the density, calculations, and gamey things you can do with it, why not just build everyone's army for them and go for that.
Fantasy is not to the point where you have to restrict so much to make it "balanced". I didn't pick up Fantasy to play blockhammer all day, I'd rather play checkers for cheaper. Take away all the super awesome war machines, monsters, characters, and everything that gives the game its flavor and you've just got a very crappy historical system.
If you want a real competition, let the floodgates down and allow people to bring what they want. Fighting the best is how you learn to stop it. Don't shrink from the challenge, embrace it.
