Howdy folks.
Well, boldo is putting up that Fantasy thingy in May and if I can get off I'd love to go. Haven't played square bases in a while since 8th can't get here soon enough, so I've got a list together and was looking for some input.
HQ Ikit Claw Warlock Engineer level 2 w/ Warpmusket, Warlock Optics, Dispel Scroll Warlock Engineer level 2 w/ Warp Energy Condenser, Doom Rocket
Core 3x Clanrat blocks, 24 rats with shields, standard bearer, musician, Plague Wind Mortar 3x Slave blocks, 20 things
Special 2x Jezzail Teams, 5 strong 5 Poisoned Winder Globadiers, a bombardier and a Poisoned Wind Mortar
Rare 2x Doomwheels
Total: 2000 Models: 156 (multiple of 13 omzogozmgog!!) PD: 9-10 plus Ikit's bound DD: 6 plus scroll
Pure Skryre, namely Ikit and his latest creations. Magic is maxed at 10 dice plus a bound, I have virtually no combat outside of Ikit and Doomwheels, and my shooting is unreliable and prone to blowing me up. That said, I have lots of shooting in multiples (to minimize the effects of Skaven unreliability) and stuff good against a wide variety of targets. I do have a Special Character (oh noes!), but he's fluffy and fits my theme. If I wanted a super caster I'd take a Grey Seer or Thanquol. Plus, Ikit invented Doomwheels, so I figure he'd have plenty of them lying around.
Please let me know what you think of the list either in terms of compage, competitiveness, or both.

I don't believe the list will comp all that well. It may be themed Skryre, but it's filled with really powerful stuff.
Not having the dual rare and having other weapon teams would help. Special characters are generally a no-no also, but not the biggest thing with this list.
As for competetiveness, it's a strong list...Not the strongest probably. It lives or dies by the doomwheels pretty much.

B-b-b-but, Ikit invented the Doomwheel, so he should have a couple lying around I could swap out 2 PWMs for Ratling Guns, though I'd miss my 4 blasts per turn. Maybe WFTs. Thanks.

not that you care, but repeat rares and all PWMs is a no-no for comp...
beware of salamanders...
it should run pretty good though

Aww bummer, so it's not contextual at all, just arbitrary stuff. 2 Chaos Spawn is uber cheese, right? I'll give it a looksie and see how it plays. If all else fails I'll just take a giant Bell unit and add in random junk to make it "acceptable".

2 Spawn aren't that bad (Anything that is a 2 for 1 choice doesn't count against you when you take 2 in my mind). 4 is a minor hit.
It's when you're duplicating really good rare choices (a-bombs and doomwheels qualify (Heck, taking one of each will hit your comp score about as hard probably). WLC's are too good to duplicate and get a decent comp score with too, but I don't think the hit would be as hard.)
Generally, 2 terror causers (especially large target ones) of any kind will hurt your comp score quite a bit.

ya, its not just that they repeat, but that its the best rare choice and a terror causer on top of that

Greetings, Hey that looks like a real nice, cool list to fight. How can you have more then 6 power dice though? I guess that Ikrit must be a kick butt character. Neat list though. Courage and Honour

Ikit is a Lord, level 3 Wiz at that, hence the 9 PD.
So, Zach and Skyth, if I read you right, this would look better on comp.
Ikit 2 Engies 3x Clanrats, each with a different weapon team (Ratling, Flayer, WFT) and equipped differently (spears, shields, naked)? 3x Slaves, equipped differently? PWGs with PWM Jezzails (1 big unit or 2 smaller?) WLC Doomwheel
I dunno how it'll comp, but that just looks bad. It's not much of an army, just a random collection of units with no rhyme or reason. Skaven weaponry is random to a fault, taking only 1 of each means one bad roll can totally screw you. PWMs may not be perfect, but they're fairly versatile when it comes to nuking infantry and maybe heavy cav if they can hit it. Jezzies and Doomwheels go after heavier stuff but can use RoF or impact hits to go after softer stuff. Why would I need to equip Slaves/Clanrats beyond the barest of essentials for effectiveness. I can see spears and slings being useful, but it just seems like wasting points for its own sake.
I figure, if you're going to a tournament with comp, you make a themed list (sacrificing good casters/fighty lords, awesome other clan units, CC pretty much altogether) while still trying to win with it. Is that off?

That one would comp better. I wouldn't worry too much about the different equipment on the individual units, just different weapon teams.

Hmm, then I guess I'll just keep my promise to myself and not buy new stuff until 8th drops.
Still, that leaves me with lots of stuff. I only have 3 weapon teams at present, 2 Ratlings and 1 WFT.
How about? Grey Seer on Bell, Skalm, Scroll, Rival Hide Talisman, 1-2 Warpstone Tokens Engi level 2 w/ condenser and rocket Assassin w/ warpstone stars 36 shieldrats, flag, Ratling 25 shieldrats, flag, musician, WFT 25 shieldrats, flag, musician, RG 2x 20 Slaves 21 GRats, 2 packmasters, MM w/ gw 12 NRs w/ slings 6 GRats, packmaster 2 RO, packmaster Doomwheel
Plague Monks, a Priest, and PCBs are an option too instead of all the Moulder. Must think about it more. Would that comp better?
