Just curious. My brother and I and another friend are making the trip out. In addition to many many board game, I'm playing in a 1250 point 40k tourney that is supposed to "redefine how small point tournaments are run". Should be fun.

I'd like to, but I'll have to work on the girlfriend faction for a bit. I have 2 marriott vouchers gathering dust and I'd love an excuse to use em on a tourney trip.

Nice! The more the merrier. Here's the link for the 1250 pt 40k event: www.genconreg.com/events/11259They're starting it at 5:00 PM, which is awesome, because it doesn't eat up a whole day.

Awesome Jeff!
1250 is an interesting bracket. What list did you take and how did you find the games compared to 1850?

Thanks, everyone. Here's the list I took:
1x DP, Wings, MoN 1x Sorceror, MoN, Doombolt 1x Dread, 2 CCW 1x Dread, 2 CCW 7x Plagues Marines, 2 Melta, Rhino 6x Plague Marines, 2 Flamer, Rhino 5x Plague Marines, 2 plasma 1x Oblit 1x Oblit 1x Oblit
Scoring was pure battle points, with no comp or painting. They did ask sports questions each round, but only used them for attitude adjustment.
It's a pretty tough list at 1250. I took the sorcerer because one of the scenarios had funky math where it was advantageous to have 2 HQs, but he ended up force weapon-ing a Terminator Runepriest and a Blood Angels Librarian in H2H, so it was a good choice. The Daemon Prince was unstoppable. DP assaults 5 man marine combat squad, eats 3, wins, marines either pass and live, or fail, ATSKNF, pass armor saves, and live. On opponent's turn, DP eats the rest of the marines and is free to repeat on my turn. Happened like 7 times in 2 games against vanilla marines and blood angels.
I tabled Loganwing. Here was his list (roughly):
Logan Rune Priest in Term Wolf Priest in Term Bjorn 10ish Wolf Guard in terminator armor, 1 cyclones, 1 assault cannon, some lightning claws, some fists, 2 thunder hammer/SS 2 Wolf Guard in power armor.
He was over confident. Plasma Cannons eat bunched up terminators, as do plasma guns and Monstrous creatures. My Dreadnoughts turned Bjorn into a finger trap and then did the same to Logan.
Winner was hoard orks. I was in third going into the last round, so I never played him. He ended up with 8 more points than me. I would have had 10 more points if I had killed one additional hiding space marine in game one. He was the difference between a win and a draw for the Primary that match. Oh well.
So, definitely fun. The guys who ran it go prize support from their FLGS, mostly recently-OOP product, and some older codexes. 4 people dropped before the last round, so there were 11 prizes for 10 people. Winner took the Baneblade. I got a Ravenwing battleforce box and won the 11th prize (ork codex) by raffle.
PS - if anyone plays dark angels and is insterested in the Ravenwing box, LMK.
