Greetings,
I wanted to make sure that this was in the right place. I could not find the right place, so it is here. I want to and am going to answer Jay's question that he asked me.
I do not live in the Rochester area. I have played there before. Actually, I used to go there a real lot. A long time ago. It was amazing back then. I am an very ardent supporter of composition but I have realized over the years that pure composition tournaments are not the only thing in Warhammer. There is the power gaming side and although it may not be valid, it is a part of the hobby. I know that Doug and Skyth openly attack each other on this site. I have dealt with Travis before at his place and the tourney was horrible. Worthless and irritating.
I have another name and it is possible that some of you guys that have been gaming for the last over a dozen years will know it. Chris Courtney, Sean, Jay, Boldo, TJ, Abe and others that I cannot remember. I do not use my birth name on here so I can deal with jerks and stalkers more easily. Those of you I mentioned above, if you remember me, would know me as this:
Cassidy Danboise
Just because I have a problem with some random guy who owns a store (who I personally cannot stand due to his behavior in the past towards me many times now) does not mean I have a problem with any of the above mentioned people. I hope I answered your question thoroughly, Jay.

Not valid? You cut me deep I went to a tourney here for the first time in a while and I thoroughly enjoyed myself even if I got roflstomped twice. I don't know what sorts of problems you've run into, but the guys I know and play with are all a good sort.

Sorry Chumbalaya, I was trying not to make either side of the composition/no composition war look bad. I certainly do not think that now at all. There really, really should be tournaments for both kinds, should there not be? I enjoy some Ardboyz every now and then for sure. I went to a tourney at that store and the funny thing was that the guys I fought against were not the problems. I played one guy who was playing lots of Marauders and Warriors: I massacred him very badly with my old Beasts of Chaos. The second and third guys I cannot really remember that well. I do know that Travis was there and he was rude the whole day. I had to restrain myself from chewing him out very badly. He was really unpleasant to be around. There was a rules calling too and they were going to just blow it off and tell me not to look the rule up! I refused and made them look it up. We finally found it: it sort of implied they were right. They are "judges" so I could not do anything about it in the end, since the rulebook was not very clear. I have a memory of that day, the people I fought against were good and I had fun talking with people there. I just could not stand the lame, rude and unfriendly judges. That is why I would probably not go back there again. Nothing against the people that play there. I may have actually met you there before. What armies do you play, Chumbalaya? That's a bummer. All my dealings with Travis have been pleasant. He's very passionate about the hobby and the community, which ends up good for all of us. Rather than dredge up old issues online, you may just want to have a private chat with him. Less drama, more resolution and all that. There's a limited pool of people in the hobby, you don't want to burn too many bridges. People can disagree and still respect one another.
I've got way too much stuff lying around. On the 40k side it's a boat load of marines (typically Dark Angels and vanilla marines, but I've got my Space Wolf and Loganwing going too now), Orks, and the beginnings of Daemon and IG armies. For Fantasy it's just Skaven right now, with Daemons and maybe Dark Elves/Lizardmen on the way. I'm holding out for 8th before I invest heavily in a system I currently don't like very much.

You must have me confused completely with someone else. While I am at the store most days that tourneys are run, my involvement with the actual event is limited to opening the store at 9am and helping set-up tables. After that I hangout at the counter and talk with other customers at the store. If we provide food for the vent I will typically call that in as well and help with the feeding when it gets to the store. Then when it's time to hand out prize support I may do that. I am not and have never been a judge for an event. No one would ever ask me a rules question for any GW game as I don't actively play any of them. I am not sure who you are talking about. Maybe a physical description of the person would help. I can't come up with an instance that I would have been involved with the scenario you are describing. If I did do something outside of that, that was offensive, I do truly apologize.

No, I had thought you were the same person and it appears that you are not. Sweet. That is good to know. Still we have clashed before (specically the person on Da Boyz known as Travis) but that is almost irrelevant. I apologize for being too harsh on you in that post. I still feel that most of the stuff I said is right but I should have been far more polite in the way I said it. So take my apology, please :-). Okay well have a nice day. Greetings,
Oh and all of that stuff with me, Travis and Chumbalaya is all irrelevant. The post was to tell Jay who I am (along with the other guys from way back years and years ago).

I am glad that I finished reading the entire thread before responding. I didnt know where you were going with the dislike for Travis, again I believe your opinion was based on a past experience with the previous owner. Travis runs a good store and does his best to promote an active gaming community. Boldo also does this well. We are lucky to have two supportive stores in our community ( actually four if you count Pair of Dice and Coyote's Den). When playing in last week's tourney, I talked to several Elmira players who said there is no place around them to play. Again we are lucky. Now on to the part where you mentioned my name. I take credit for what I have done in the past ( and for what I will do in the future ) but you have to understand most of the attacks here are just web based BS. While it it true I dislike Skyth, my attacks are usually just here as entertainment and to somewhat prove a point. The last time I went off on him was when he impugned my honesty and character. Then I spoke my mind and let him know what I thought. To be honest Cassidy, Rochester has a great group of gamers and given the chance I am sure your would enjoy playing in our little microcosm. Hell, you might actually like me too, and the feeling might be reciprocated as long as you speak about things you have knowledge of and actually have a sense of humor! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D BTW....Ron attacks Skyth too, I am sure he has cried to his mommy on both of us, not just me!

while i marvel at the bait that has been put up here calling -someone- out once again, im just going to put it out there that since you are not actually from the area, some of the people you have had problems with before when playing against might also be out of towners... just because they are playing here, doesnt mean they are from the area, as you yourself prove...
