Will posted the final scores up on his site. Apparently I got a perfect sportsmanship score. no idea how that worked, considering I was kinda flying off the handle about my land raider

The rubric drops the lowest of three scores (both judges and opponents). That way you don't get screwed by one guy.

ah, that must be why. I was a pretty mellow guy rounds 1 and 2, but when that land raider immobilized itself... that was my 3rd immobilization of the day, out of 4 checks.
2 of those fails were on my land raider. In fact, my land raider failed the only 2 attempts to move it made. all day. ugh. STUPID GOD d**n LAND RAIDER NOW I'M GETTING ANGRY ABOUT IT AT WORK.

Unfortunately your land raider performed flawlessly during my game... curse that lone terminator.

and apparently the guy you played is still arguing for his MC getting saves. funny, I think. lol. He's a good guy. He's just trying to work stuff out as to how it should have worked.

not saying he's not a good guy. It just seems clear to me, and have never had it played any way different, that monstrous creatures need to be 50% obscured to gain a cover save.
I've played hundreds of games.. and everyone else has always played the same way.

Well apparently my average demeaner seems to have pissed him off. Not exactly sure why by I admit I am not very encouraged by some of the comments on the site.
Will I did not complain that he was playing slow or carrying on conversations during the game (his turn). Nor did I complain that I repeatedly had to remind him that he roled for Fleet/run then try to fire his Trygons. We actually ran over in time just to get through turn 3. This game was a perfect instance where I had one type of unit that hemmed his army up. Pathfinder snipers are just great at countering MC's. Somehow I think if his genestealers had come in on the right table edge I would have gotten a better score. They would have torn right through me.
I will try to shift my list around if I attend another of your events to tone it down. Typically that list does not do very well and gets owned at most events. My goal is to show off my armies not win games. However my goal is not to throw games to make my opponents happy either.

there was a wide array of skills and armies at that tournament.
I can say without much doubt I could have crushed your eldar list joe... as could will's guard list.
It just so happened that a unit you stocked up on was amazing at blowing away monstrous creatures.

I agree. It was the rock/papper/scissors of the event. There was no way I could have beat the IG army. I may have done a little better against your list but it would have come down to rolls and scenario. Hell I would not even had to shoot at your LR...you do all the damage yourself hehe. BTW I will take that game when I can get it so maybe we can get together before I head back to Atlanta. I was a little suprised to see the bug player complain I dinked his scores ( I gave him the avg for sports and comp) when I know this guys hammered me for all the wrong reasons. Not sure how I can handle a rules disagreement any better than I did. He expressed his confidence in his interpretation of the rule, I told him I was pretty sure that MC did not work that way but we could look it up. Even when reading the rule he wanted to argue. The judge agreed with me and he argued. Then he dinks me and flames me on a public forum.
As an edit Shaun has played almost that exact list (removed the D-cannons and some wargear then added a wave serpant) He whomped me with his chaos marines and we still had a blast. Shaun do you think my Eldar list is over the top?

The Eldar list you played wasn't over the top compared to what Eldar can do in the current codex. I think a lot of people see Eldar, Avatar and two Wraithlords and that's it. Admittedly that is a very strong core for a list at this type of event. Still, it's no more over the top than my guard list in our local meta-game.

Man, we've had so many comp discussions (arguments) and most end up getting locked.
Getting a comp score from your opponent is tough to justify, firstly because you're playing in a tournament which in function is competition and letting someone who is competing against you take a crack and knocking you down a few rungs is double tough. Having your opponent score your comp after a match can also yeild a different result than if they scored you before the game was played.
If comp is going to be a heavy component of the tourney, best bet is just to not bring any duplicate Codex selections besides troops (sometimes). So yes, 2 wraithlords would not score max comp in some environments. It can also be influenced by point distributions as some tourneys encourage more points in troops than any other FO. Some actually critque your choices and ding you for "not making any bad selections" which I guess is how I lost points in the last tourney.

Dang I was excited to go to this tournament since it seems to give a nice mix of comp and painting I thought it would be a nice event. Seems based on the boards that were linked this was not the case. I had work obligations come up but seems things got pretty heated over some rules that should have just gone to a roll of the dice 4+.
