Warhammer 40k • 1000 points • You must have at least one Troops choice. • An army cannot be composed entirely of troop choices. (if anyone has a problem with this one, speak now or forever hold thy tongue) • You may have one HQ choice, but no more than one • You can spend no more than 50 points on wargear. • No model can have more than 3 Wounds. • No Special Characters. • No vehicles with a total points value greater than 200 • You may take up to one choice each from fast attack, heavy support, elite. A player may forfeit his elite slot and fast or heavy in order to take 2 heavys or 2 fast • This special force organization takes the place of any special force organization restrictions or bonuses.
Starting time - should be 12-ish cost - most likely the usual $10 which includes pizza for lunch

Just so this is clear:
- 1 elite AND -1 Heavy = +1 Fast ? - 1 elite AND -1 Fast = +1 Heavy ?

Yes, you sacrifice two slots for one
And now that I think about it... there should probably be a limit on the number of troop choices taken too... probably 3 or 4.
I had also thought about sacrificing the fast and the heavy for an extra elite... but I'm not sure about that.

No dont do the elite thing

I just didn't want to see someone bring six, 5 man las-plas tactical squads.

Yeah, but then it becomes 4 las/plas, some weak HQ and a tooled Elite choice instead. Pick your lesser of two evils...Just make your descion before sunday. So we have some solid guideline to go by.

Well, then the best choice is to leave it as is and then see how it could have been improved after the tournament tomorrow.

Thanks to all who showed and played. ( A special thanks to Dragon...he musta missed his short bus ride that morning... ;D)
In first with a perfect 6 points was Ron with his Neon Nazi guard ( big suprise there...) Second was a tie between Orville with his Space Wolves and James with his Eldar complete with stealth Wraithload. Brian was third along with Shortbus, Walter, Matt, and myself.
Good times, good pizza, thanks for playing!

If you have it the Saturday, the 7th, there's a decent chance I could make it to the next one

SoB all my games were hard fought...well except the first against Short bus.
But Walter and James put up a d**n good fight. It came down to the wire both games.

Game 1 vs. That kid with pony tail and the squeaky voice... (Necrons)
I should really try and learn his name. Turn one I blasted all five of his destroyers, a serious points sink in a 1000 pt game. It was all down hill from there, a phase out victory for me at the end of turn five.
Game 2 vs. Doug (Sisters)
Doug bought 20 strong in Repentia as well as some Arco-Flagellats ... both got blasted to hell with the remaining Repentia massacred in assault. Doug conceded at the conclusion of turn four or five, as it was alpha level recon and I had two whole squads sitting pretty in his deployment zone. Not to mention he only had two half strength sister squads left hiding in the woods, one about to be assaulted by Mr. Wraithlord.
Game 3 vs. Ron (IG)
What can I say? When the difference between a win and a tie is 40 points, you know it was close. I would have done a few things differently if I could do it again, but that comes back to me being stupid and not reading the mission objectives over until I understood them clearly. Still, a tie for second place is just fine by me.
I wonder how much my Ultramarines would fetch on Ebay?...
