Steve,
Are you serious?
The top of this post explains how the scoring worked. I also went over it line by line before the first round. I also asked did anyone have any questions before we started. I also left a printed copy of this post at the judges table. The only change to anything on the scenario sheets was due to the number of mission points in the second scenario being 50% more then the 1st and 3rd. So in order to compensate for that every point scored in mission two was worth 1.5 points. This was adjusted before points were calculated. As far as announcing were you were in the last round. I left and went next door and announced 20 minutes left in the round. At that point when should the next announcement be? Should we announce every five minutes? I get your frustration. Anyone that loses by one point would be annoyed. Does it really matter where that point came from though. It easy to look and say that it was due to the judge points you lost. But what if you earned an an additional two points somewhere else. Then you would have won.
Chumba - When you can get an actual army together please talk about showing up to our events. Throw 80% painted army out the window. You need to get your army to 80% of the proper minis first.
Aaron - I don't think there was any issue with the good/game bad comp. So it seems that worked out okay. Let me know if you thought differently.
Thanks to all that attended. Hope you liked the new space.

I get that I should pay more attention to these things. I wasn't feeling very well that day, and I suppose I wasn't paying enough attention. In the end, I asked the TO two questions about scoring. I took no more than 5 minutes of his time. That's it. I don't care if I loose by a point or two. its happened before. When it happens because a judge says "screw you", I get annoyed. That is all. Its great to say "if you scored one point somewhere else"... but I scored max battlepoints... no room for improvement there. I scored max "sportsmanship" (no negative modifiers from anyone)... and my painting will never be even close to Chris's level of ability. So... yea. whatever. Its over, its done, it was a BS call. the end.

Oh come on, my army is all proper. Since there's no Thunderwolf model that doesn't look like ass, I use Chaos steed with a Space Marine riding it. I'll have to post up a pic or two when I get home from work

I had a great time on Saturday even though my Crons got trounced on during the first two games. Managed a draw in the last game with Venom. I saw some new faces and played against two new guys to boot (Gerry - Orks and Adam - Black Templars, I believe).
Overall a good day and I enjoyed the new room. Will the new room be used for open gaming as well or is that still going to take place in the old space? I'm hoping to get in a couple of team match ups before the event at Syracuse on the 24th.
I had mentioned to Steve that I am willing to drive a group to Syracuse on the 24th. I have a mini van that can fit 6 comfortably and 8 uncomfortably. Right now it's just me and my son and possible Steve and Terry. Anyone else interested in joining along just let me know.

in chumby's defense, believe it or not, he has every right to use chaos steeds according to games workshop, the fact that he got dokked for that is absolutely rediculous: look on the gw website at gamesday pictures from 2008: im sure the player using cold ones as "bikes" for his nob bikers had points taken away from him...so with that ruling you're bashing him for being creative? Aren't conversions apart of the hobby? ok then the players that use the resin caste thunderwolves should be worse off: they aren't even GW models...i understand the b.s call for steve too, a judge dropping points from his overall due to some stupid personal reason, hell he even stated that courtney agreed w him and split the prize difference...nothings wrong with the tournament structure itself, somethings wrong with the judge
mind you the only GW thunderwolf model is a nutsty metal caste $40 model..and on another note, ive been going to millenium for awhile, and like any other local tournament setting, judging is always going to be an issue: everyone knows each other, thats just the nature of the beast

Not sure you were following the conversation from the earlier post. Chumba didn't play in the event. When he did play a few months ago he had fantasy figures. I was busting his balls and he knows that. It was mostly due to the shear volume of posts that he has talking about the game, the hobby, the scoring, the tactics and whats right or wrong with how everyone does things. The irony is that he posts this stuff and shows up with square bases to a round base game. That's all chuckle, chuckle. He would still get dokked though as they weren't painted and barely primed. I sent him a pm when I posted the first post letting him know that I was busting his balls. It happens here thankfully.

Everybody has their say, but we're all in the same boat here. There's love everywhere, you just have to look harder some times They actually were the same Marines on horsies Travis, that and spiders subbing for Fenrisian Wolves. Shoot, my Ravenwing bikes still have rectangle bases too
