DaBoyz GT Prizes
What would everyone like to see given out as prizes?
I have been looking at forge world and battle foam as the major prizes.
What are your thoughts?
Just to give you an idea I have posted on prize on the GT site, but that can change.

For me, the prizes should be something everyone would want and somewhat keyed at the category won. For overall winners, Battlefoam and Forge World stuff are great. Everybody can use foam and Forge World stuff is badass. For painting prizes, maybe terrain pieces or intricate character models to paint. For sportmanship prizes, Black Library books? And for best general, a lovely trophy and maybe a collection of models from the same army so they can build a new one?

I really liked the overall prize from last year... a fairly complete marine army. I'd suggest doing something similar, but with a different army. I know a fully NIB eldar, ork, nid, or guard army would be a prize i'd definitely want.

I like Timbo's suggestion. Set up the prize to fit the criteria for winning it.

i think the army for overall is cool, maybe with the newest released army, but that may be grey knights by the GT, don't really know if tey count as marines per se...
i think it would be nice to have a related prize for each category, like a master paint set or special basing stuff for appearance, or a new puppy for worst sportsmanship.
i'd also like to see a shiny new reaver titan for the player with the best army conversions... yeah. totally.

personally I am a trophy sleeper hehe. I like a plaque or trophy with a tag showing what I accomplished. Swords, axes, and other large items are great for first prizes in catagories (paint, sports, etc). Daggers work great for second and third places. These items can be found pretty cheap on a few sites just make sure you glue a small brass ID on there stating the event, year, placing, and catagory won.
Outside of that I am a big fan of gift certificates at the local stores. It encourages people to shop at the store, the store can use their prize support from GW, and typically people spend more than the gift cards are worth so the store still makes some money.

To add to the above, make sure you spread out the prize support. Many smaller prizes with trophies of a sort make more people happy.

That would be great. For the smoking boots prize you should take a pair of baby shoes, spray them gold, silver, and bronze, then put them on a stained base with a engraved plaque to show what it is for....hell I may even make em up if you supply the engraved plaque hehe.

i was gonna build a space wolf army, but due to leaving for army basic in october i can donate an unopened land raider crusader/redeemer, and space wolf pack if it would help pm me

Jay if you do the engraved tag for the smoking boots I will do the 3 sets of shoes on the base. That way I can pose the shoes hehe.

i got a lot of random extra stuff from a tournament in orlando i place second in, and a few things leftover from never being able to decide on an army to play  most of my stuff is random demons of chaos, tyranid and ork stuff and a few space marine/space wolf things, pm me and ill see wut i can do to help |
