I don't think it does. A GT covers all aspects of the hobby where as the Ard boyz only covers one. In reality Ard Boyz is simply about gw getting people to buy mass quantities of stuff that they typically would not use. It is a great marketing strategy that serves the gamers. It is a good vent for them but does nothing to contribute to the hobby aspect or growing players.
It is but when you play the power list game after game it gets old and looses the fun. So if I play because I like the models then I should just give my opponent the win, put my army out for display, and go drink beer? Although the beer does sound good I still like to be competitive, just not uber competitive.
I have been that power gamer, whining about all the soft scores, and doing the minimal I had to just to get an army on the table and squash my opponent. After I won the Charlotte GT I realized how little fun I had doing that and it changed my entire view of the hobby.
Your right I do but we pick lists for 2 very different reasons. I think what Jay is trying to do is set up an event that serves every aspect and I appreciate that. I am betting my comp scores wont be steller as I do not have time to shift my lists due to work. They are not power lists but should look good and play fun.
