DaBoyz GT is quickly approaching!
I figure I should compile some sort of list, so I can start making my models pretty for it Last year I went with straight mechanized marines, with a single assault squad for support. This year, I'm going to go in a totally different direction... a marine rapid reaction force. I play a codex chapter, so its all possible within the codex astartes. The underlying principle is that every unit needs to either be able to deep strike, or move at least 24" per turn... in effect, I want eldar-level mobility from my marines ><
I'd be interested to know the opinions of my fellow 40k players on this list, so thanks in advance for that. (I already know it won't be the most combat effective list, so give suggestions to enhance the theme, not the power of the list)
HQ- Captain on bike, (TH/SS) - 180 pts
Troops- 10 man biker squad (2x Melta guns, Multimelta, Fist) - 310 pts
Troops- 10 man biker squad (2x plasma guns, heavy bolter, plasma pistol) - 300 pts
Troops- 10 man tactical squad (plasma, Multimelta, Fist) in drop pod - 230 pts
Troops- 10 man tactical squad (flamer, Missile, power sword) in drop pod - 230 pts
Fast - 5 man scout biker squad (sarge w/ fist and locator beacon) - 160 pts
Heavy - 10 man devastator squad (4x multimelta) in drop pod
Heavy - 5 man devastator squad (2x plasma cannon) in drop pod
I basically envision the scouts spotting for the devastators to come in turn 1, create a fire base, and have the tacticals and bikers come to support that. I've never seen devastators in drop pods, and I've rarely seen scout bikers, so I figure i'm using a few unique choices at least... and I have no mobile vehicles, so thats certainly a unique feature. What do you all think?
