I did not see anything in the rules for the GT or the primer at Millennium Games. What is the policy for alternative models? Such as Ultraforge Daemons or chapterhouse Nids and the like. Are they ok as long as they are not abusing LOS rules? Thank you.

Jay has final say on this.
Are said models the proper height and width for targetting purpose and on the proper sized base.
Also they should be WYSIWYG as much as possible. This means wings for daemons and scything/crushing/rending for nids. I don't think they're requiring toxin sacs or adrenal glands.

High Command does.
We had emails about this. Ruling was: So long as its on the correct base, about the same height, weapons and gear are shown appropiately (plasma guns/power fists/rending claws. ect...) WYSIWYG pretty much. And you MUST make it absoluelty clear to your oppoenets what it is and what it has before you start.

On the subject of base sizes, what are the expectations for harpies and tervigons as there are no official models.
I have both on the large ovals. Tervigons being a 6 wound mc deserve it imo despite the fact that most use carnifex's for the conversion. Harpies are 4 wounds but described as being flying trygons with hollow fragile bodies.

I put my on the oval bases, but either would work.

What about using a Soul Grinder model in place of a defiler for a CSM army? It would be a defiler stat-wise but looks so much better.
I used it last year at the GT and at most of the local events here and I've only had 1 person ever give me a hard time about it. I have the Heavy Flamer modeled on, it has a auto-cannon on its arm and the mouth/maw represents the battle cannon. If anything, I am hindering myself because the grinder model has a taller profile than the defiler.
I figured I would ask what the official ruling is on this in case it gets brought up during the event.
