@ Kevin : They really try to make the story line the center of their game. They even have fluff around some of the more common units. With the extensive use of terrain and board elements they strive to make each game unique. There will rarely be a game played where you play on the same board or with the same objectives. That said in February/ March they will release a rule book that is just rules.
@gabe You are welcome to use any of my models. They are kept at the store always. Some are put together others are not. If there is something you want to play and its not put together feel free to grab some glue and make it happen. I have nearly every model from the first book.

Thank you Travis. If that's the case, then maybe Kevin and I can just play each other and work our way through the rules together.
I'm assuming I can ask any of the guys where the models are?

I had my first game last night vs Gabe. I played Lady J's crew vs The Viktorias and needless to say my crew got wiped off of the board but I did manage to take out one of the Viktorias. Very fun game and I look forward to a rematch next week.
Overall the mechanics went smooth but it was my lack of remembering the abilities and triggers of each model in my crew and when (or when not) to spend my soulstones that hurt me but that will come in time.

Yeah, I had the Judge and Lady J in combat with the Viktoias and the one had the trigger where each successful hit allowed her to target another model for as long as she kept making successful attacks. By the end of the first round of combat both of my characters were down to 2-3 wounds left.

Not just successful attacks, but attacks with masks. But I did get a hot streak on that trigger. Pf course, your bad draws for anything other than initiative didn't help.
Thinking of trying Collette next week. Have to read up on a few things first, but I'm intrigued by her crew.

I got new releases in on Friday. On wednesday I also got the updated rulebook. It pretty nice. For $15.00 you get a book a bit larger then the one that comes in the GW starter kits. The rules are well ladi out and they have a ton of pictures showing examples of different things interact.
So to play the game you need
Rulebook - $15.00
Starter Army - $40.00 is the high end
Deck of Cards - Most people have a deck
Measuring Tape - $4
Paint/Glue - Your only painting 5 or so guys.
Financially you can't beat it.

Once my GK are done I plan on looking into this. I am starting to see Malifaux tournies appear at a lot of the gaming conventions.
