Rules change: after a lot of play testing, weve changed the value of the center objective to 3 points at the end of every player turn
this event is tomorrow and should be a blast, if you dont come you are dead to me! ;D

Thanks again for everyone that showed up and partook in this "unique" event! Obviously next time we will make sure to have a standardized scoring system as well as work out a few kinks in hand to hand combat, but otherwise it seemed to go well. Please post any additional comments, concerns, or suggestions!

Thanks to everyone who helped put this event together. Even though I could not roll my dice worth crap I had a blast.

I'd also like to say thank you to everyone who put in such hard work for this. Maybe one day I'll do better than being runner up in a category.

Very fun event. I thought it went very well considering the game weren't designed for 4 separate armies to take the field and attack each other in a giant chaotic hairball. The scoring did get out of hand in a few situations, but I don't think people thought 50pts in one game was even realistic. I didn't get to playtest the format, but those I spoke to said the practice games tallied up to half of that. Even still, it was a relatively new and under-tested format so I thought the event was a huge success with all these challenges. Can't wait for the next one! I'll also be writing casual batreps for my blog. If you're interested, the first one is here: synaps3.blogspot.com/2011/03/last-man-standing-game-1.html

Overall the tournament was a lot of fun and I really like the uncertainty random turns brought to the game. It certainly made for some dramatic moments.
I think the next one will be more refined, it is hard to run a new format for the first time. Here are the two main 'issues' I saw overall.
Combat - Who wins? I think this was played differently a few times, but four players really requires a some more detailed rewriting of the multiple combat rules.
Scoring - This has already been discussed and now that we know it is possible to score so many points, should it be normalized somehow?
Deployment - I liked the layout but the board seemed small (maybe because I was daemons and played so many tyranids?). Should lists be 1000 points to compensate or were people happy with this aspect?
Objectives - This is related to scoring, I think generally the ridiculously high scores were related to gaining up to 12 points a turn from this. I know the idea is to force people to engage in the middle and mix it up (same with 3 kp across a table) but was this too much?
Regardless, great job overall coordinating such a late event in a unique format is a challenge and I had a ton of fun (even if I was exhausted by the end).
