Once again the U of R gaming convention SIMCON www.simcon.org/ will be hosting the Rochester Games Workshop Championship. We will once more this year have a 1500pt 40k Team tournament on Saturday starting at 10am. On Sunday we will have a 2400pt Fantasy tournament. One price gets you into both tournaments and I think that is only $15. The good part is that any player who plays in both is eligible for the grand prize of the Rochester Games Workshop Championship. There will be atleast prizes for the top 5 combined scores. This is an event not to be missed. Boldo

Does anyone know if the new Orc and Goblin book will be allowed for this event? If so I may have to pick it up soon.

You know, I woke up this morning prepared to ask the very same question.

I stopped into Boldo's yesterday and asked the guy at the counter but he was not sure what Alex was allowing. If anyone can ask Alex that would be appreciated.

Still waiting on a response as to whether or not we can use the new book for this. It would be helpful to know so I could figure out which list to practice with.

Which is correct?

Great, even more confusion over this event. To make matters worse, the 40k event listing doesn't mention that it's a team tournament. So, this event seems to be shaping up into a major SNAFU.

I just spoke to Alex and the Saturday event is a 40K team event 2 players of 1500 points apiece. The Sunday event is a single person Fantasy tournament at 2250 points. I don't know if the new ork and goblin book is allowed. Is it on shelves for sale?

Shaun,
Thanks for clearing up the point values for both events. As for the Orc and Goblin book, it came out last week thus the question whether or not it would be allowed at the event. Many events don't allow new books if they came out within less than 30 days of the event.
