This June, Millennium Games brings you another great nighttime Warhammer 40,000 event.
Date - June 18th
Format - Team Battles Tournament - This is a casual event. There will be prizes for the best players, but there will not be comp scoring, sportsmanship, and painting is not required. This is designed to be a FUN event, so keep a light heart when reading the rules and building your armies
Time - Signups start at 5pm. First round starts at 6pm
Cost - $25. You can save $5 by paying in advance before June 16th
Format - 1,000 point lists with the following restrictions
-Minimum 1 HQ and 2 Troop choices -Maximum 1 HQ and 4 Troop choices -You may also take 1 Heavy, 1 Fast, and 1 Elite slot, as well as one 'Floating' slot (aka a second of EITHER heavy, fast, or elite. just like the last team event rules) -No special characters allowed -Each mission will also have a secondary objective that will hopefully add some flavor to the event. These objectives will be easy to understand but also help with tiebreakers.
Rounds - 4 rounds with different partners each round -round 1 - random partner -round 2 - losing players will choose a player to team with -round 3 - random partner -round 4 - partners will be paired in top + bottom order
Food - We will be providing food of some sort (still working out the details) It will either be Pizza, or something better....
Any Questions please feel free to contact myself (VenoMinoN) or Doug Lillie (MajorSoB)

how about a 1 troop minimum like adepticon Let me answer that question for you.....NO, it will be 2 troops minimum and 1 HQ choice. We aren't running Adepticon. We are attempting to run a fun tournament. If I let you only take one troop choice, you will load up on deathstar elite units or heavy choices and break the format. Again let me stress that this is supposed to be a fun event and help promote the game to newer players who have smaller armies. Thanks!

How noobie supportive is this going to be because I'm in the middle of teaching three people how to play that will be buying their armies this weekish. If you guys are fine with complete beginners showing up I'll drag them in. I will of course try and run them through enough games beforehand that they have most of the basics down but we all know it takes a while.

This would probably be a great event for newbies as long as they know the basics of movement, shooting, and assault phases.
Being a team event with 4 partners throughout the night means they'll be playing alongside experienced players.
We're all about bringing more people into the hobby and I think our players are very patient and helpful for the most part.

Actually, that was exactly why I wanted to get in contact with him, I know that he's having a rough time and just want to talk to him about the event and if he is still up for it.

Just changed the top - Painting will not be used as a tiebreaker anymore, instead there will be some secondary objectives that will give players more chances to gain points. see the top post for details

Just to help you out Venom:
1) Food- Don't worry folks I will make sure their is something decent for everyone who attends, even if I have to supply it myself. Mike is working on something special but if that falls through I am sure I can help pick up the slack.
2) New players- Not every event should be geared at competitive challenges to prove who the best players are. Sometimes it is fun just to play and enjoy the company of your fellow gamers. I am happy to help new players who are interested in this event. It is designed to be fun and there will be 4 players per table, so the veterans can help the newbies.
3) Veteran players- Some older players have fallen out of the hobby and I would like to invite them back for a night of fun. I am trying to talk up this event with several MIA players. Please give thought to attending, I have my son convinced, come on down and give him a beating for old time sake!

ok so i have yet to touch my paint brushes since the last tournament since im in the process of rebuilding the motor in my 77 corvette, so when it says painting is not required does that mean the scores are not included or will not be judged at all?either way i plan on using my nids for this non competative event and there not nearly done being painted
i have yet to run a swarm style nid list as i usually do a mix of big/small with my nids so i may take this opprotunity to do just that lol maybe 60 gaunts(2x30), 20 stealers(2x10) and some gargs/hive gaurd?? or maybe 20 gaunts and all big bugs... decisions decisions
EDIT: by the way what time does this usually wrap up?

We are not including painting at all so that people with Grey knights or new Finecast models can field them without having to rush them. It would be nice if they could be wysiwyg, but even small exceptions to that are ok as well. Its a casual event, so bring what you and your teammates will have the most fun with
The first round starts at 6 pm and it will be 4 rounds of about 2 hours each, so should end around 2am. not much different than a night on the town, but it will cost you less and the missus doesnt have to worry bout where your are ;D
