Hey all, Saturday the 19th of November there will be a Halloween themed Malifaux tournament at pair-a-dice games. I will get write up of strategies soon but here's what I can tell you now:
Who: Me - dfc1356@rit.edu - 404.576.8438 or Jeff @ pair-a-dice (585) 442-8506 When: Date 19th November Where: Pair-a-Dice games (274 N. Goodman Street)
Format: Accumulation of Difference. Each round you gain points equal to the difference between you and your opponent. I.E. if you score 6 & your opponent scores 4, then you score a total of 2 & your opponent scores -2. You will never lose points. This was changed to match the official Disparity format.
Crews: Single faction pool- Pick a faction & form a pool of 45 SS. Each round you will pick 25SS worth of points to play with. I went with a smaller scale as we want people to finish their games & not run into time limit. Rounds will last 80 mins
Strategies: All strategies will be shared. I will post what they are by this Friday.
Schemes: Core schemes only Gaining Ground approved schemes only, no duplicating schemes over the tournament (I.E. you cannot take a scheme more than once)
Entry Fee: $5.00
Times: 11:00 Registration Begin 12:00 Round 1 Begin 01:20 Round 1 End ****Lunch Break**** 02:20 Round 2 Begin 03:40 Round 2 End 03:50 Round 3 Begin 05:10 Round 3 End
If there is anything you need to know my phone number & email address are provided above. If not I will check this daily & update you with a tournament pamphlet by Friday.
Thanks all & I hope to see you there.

How is scenario 3 going to work with masters such as levi or hamelin who can return after death?

Levi was covered in the document, if he isn't let me know & I'll upload a new version (I may have clicked an old one on accident)
As for Hamelin he will be tougher to deal with, just as he would in contain power, which is a gaining ground approved strategy. Remember he can only come back if he is within 3" of one of "The Stolen" so play accordingly.
ALSO: I forgot to mention due to unfamiliarity with the rules & requests from a few players avatars will NOT be allowed in this tournament.

My apologies, forgot to save the revised version before uploading. But here it is. Also note there was a slight change on how scenario 2 scores. If there is anything else please don't hesitate to ask. Attachments:

In scenario 3 I assume that a new Viktoria from "Another one?" would be treated like a resurrected Leviticus. Would this be correct?

I have another question for you Dorian. In scenario 1 it looks like you are trying to standardize the idol carrier's movement. My concern is that maybe you overlooked burying the idol carrier, such as in the dreamers crew. The idol carrier can be buried and carried farther away and avoid the WP test altogether. What is your take on this?

My take is that burying a model, moves it from its current location on the table. Therefore it is covered under: "They may not be moved by anything other than a walk action "
Thus to clarify you may NOT bury a model with the idol.

Unfortunately, several things conspired against me today and Im not able to make it to today's tournament. Hopefully things will go better for me the next time around.

Well, Dorian did the best he could, considering only two of us showed up. In the end, my Vikis fell to the dreamer. Such is the fate of one who hasn't practiced enough in recent months. Next time.
