entropic strike::: For each hit a vehicle suffers from a weapon or model with this special rule roll a d6, for each 4+, it immediately loses 1 point of armor from all facings....
Ok so Say I go into a land raider with a full squad, 50 attacks, I get 25 Hits, and 8 strikes go through making it armor 6, Do i now get 25 dice to see if i pen/glance it? since i'm str 3 and its now armor 6?
I don't have my Rule book on me, but Do i "Hit" it first, then apply this and then do armor penetration rolls or Hit it, armor pen, apply results from the hit in which case its a wash since its 3 v. 14?

Although my initial thought was no, you don't get the strikes (my reasoning being that entroptic strike IS the damage you are doing) HOWEVER after reading the rule I would say you do get 25 dice to see if you pen it. It says IMMEDIATELY after hitting, nothing about damaging it.

I would say you do the Entropic Strike armor reduction after you finish the normal hit/pen/damage sequence for the scarabs.
The entropic strike is not 'the damage you are doing' it is an addon like Soul Devourer or Boneswords to normal attacks.
The end result is the same, my reasoning is there specification of order or direction to interrupt the normal sequence of resolving damage results. Assuming they occur simultaneously then, means the armor is still the original value until you finish resolving the hits.
If you have multiple initiative steps though, I would say the lower I models get to hit the reduced armor.

I believe the armor reduction is done instead of the armor pen rolls. At least I figured this is how GW wanted it to work, but of course their wording is a little lacking.
So your Scarabs hit the Land Raider and reduce it to Armor 6 with their attacks. Now your Immortals, Warriors etc shoot at it and roll against AV 6.
I think the Scarabs are just to help dissolve the armor, their attacks are not strong enough to punch through the armor, they just erode it for your other units to take the tank out.
Now Rules as Written... I guess your scarabs could then make a Armor Pen roll, but Rules as Intended... they shouldn't.
That is just how I take the rule.

The way I read it crimethan is correct. You do the entropic stikes first (it states immediately) then you do the damage rolls.

My quesion is off the topic. Does anyone happen to know what happened to 44 of my necron warriors? They were at the store and now I only have 6 of the original 50. If anyone has an idea where they may have gone to, I would appreciate it.
Back on to regular discussion.

I would say you do the Entropic Strike armor reduction after you finish the normal hit/pen/damage sequence for the scarabs. I reread the codex and spoke with some people about this. I recant my position, you definitely do the Entropic Strike armor reduction before rolling armor penetration. This makes them absolutely awesome.
